I voted

Kyrie
Kemba
Kawhi
Giannis
Embiid

and

Curry
Harden
Lebron
Durant
Davis

It was actually pretty easy. All the usual suspects. The only one I struggled with was the 2nd guard spot in the East. Kemba, Oladipo, and Lowry (2nd in the league in apg) are all deserving. But I went Kemba.

West

G: Steph
G: Fox
F: LeBron
F: Durant
C: Jokic

I went with Jokic over AD simply because Jokic is so much fun to watch. I think he could be great in an ASG.

I had trouble with the second guard spot. The players I really wanted to pick were firstly Paul George and secondly Luke Doncic but the selection thingy wouldn't let me pick them as guards because it considered them as forwards which I think is crap.

I did not want to pick James Harden. I haven't liked him in past ASGs. He settles for too many bad shots (step back 3s) and is turnover prone. I thought about Lillard but I feel he will take too much time on the ball and shots away from better players. Klay Thompson doesn't really deserve to be there this year and he has never played well in past ASGs either. Westbrook has had some major ASG performances but he has shot the ball terribly this year so not liking him to repeat past glories. I do not think Mike Conley will fit in well in an ASG setting. Not him either. DeRozan is a ball-hog / shot-hog in ASGs. Not him.

So I ended up going for De'Aaron Fox.

East

G: Kyrie Irving
G: Bradley Beal
F: Kawhi Leonard
F: Blake Griffin
C: Joel Embiid

I had Giannis in initially but I decided I wanted Blake Griffin in there. Griffin is more fun to watch. He can actually make a jump-shot.

I went with Embiid over Horford at center. Horford has never played that well in past ASGs. I think Embiid will be more exciting.

Again, I had trouble with the second guard slot. I did not want to pick Kemba Walker. Two small ball-dominant guards (Kyrie, Kemba) does not fill my heart with joy. So Kemba was out despite being the most deserving candidate. Then there was Oladipo but he doesn't interest me greatly either. He needs more time on the ball to impact games than he will get in an ASG. Lowry hasn't impressed me in past ASGs.

Again, the darn selection thingy wouldn't let me choose Middleton because it considered him a frontcourt player. Or Jimmy Butler.

Oh Bradley Beal, I will go with Beal. He can play off the ball and be effective.

Curry
Westbrook
George
James
Jokic

Irving
Lowry
Antetokounmpo
Leonard
Embiid

When the stats were close, I elected to reward winning so I went with Westbrook over Harden, George over Durant, Jokic over Davis, and Lowry as the 2nd east guard (though thought about Oladipo awhile).  I just had a hard time rewarding the guys that impacted winning less then their counterparts, especially when statistically the numbers were close enough (Durant in particular was easy to leave out since the Warriors were a bit of a mess without Curry, and then when Curry came back went back to being the Warriors).  Frankly, I think Paul George is having one of those unbelievable seasons that no one is really talking about.  I was glad to see him finally getting some MVP love in the game yesterday.  He has been absolutely fabulous this year with career highs across the board and the Thunder looking awesome (loss yesterday not with standing).
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

East - Irving, Beal, Leonard, Antetokounmpo, Embiid

West - Curry, Harden, Durant, James, Davis

I would note that if it were possible to vote for just one back court player and four front court players I'd have voted for Jokic above Harden. Jokic is certainly worthy, and if he was in the East I'd vote him ahead of Embiid, but those are the breaks.

The positional limitations are annoying.

My top 5 players in the East so far are Giannis, Kawhi, Embiid, Kyrie, and Butler.

My top 5 players in the West so far would be LeBron, Durant, Jokic, Davis, Lillard.

My actual vote due to frontcourt/backcourt restrictions:

East - Kyrie, Kemba, Kawhi, Giannis, Embiid

West - Curry, Dame, Durant, LeBron, Davis

The players I believe deserve it the most:

Kyrie - Oladipo - Kawhi - Giannis - Embiid (one each from the top 5 teams)

Steph - Harden - LeBron - Durant - Jokic

The players I actually voted for:
