It happens to all athletes.  From about 34-35 to 36 (approx) ... a sudden drop in explosiveness, strength, stamina etc

Lebron James last best season as a super athlete looks like was last season.   I had a feeling Lakers made a big mistake giving him a max contract in his mid thirties.  Magic Johnson is a terrible GM

all in all,  Lebron dominance..... consecutive streaks of making the finals will come to a halt. But also his ability to dominate is over

I think he can still be a good player but at a reduced role.  Maybe stick to playing PF full time

I have had the same thought. He can still fill up an offensive stat sheet, but his defense has fallen off a cliff. In years past he could still crank up the defense when he needed to. I don’t think he has that gear any more. If Cleveland can somehow get something for love. They are probably better off that he left. I think Cleveland would have been the 5th or 6th seed with him, love, Thompson and korver this year

Funny because I was thinking the exact same thing after this play.  Father Time is undefeated.  Anyway, LeBron was ALREADY trending down before this year (numbers be dammed).  Now just a matter of how steep the decline becomes.

I think he's become James Harden-like now, but I think Harden might have actually eclipsed him. Might be a bit sacrilegious to say, but Harden generates way more points this season and IMO has been a better defender. He's actually one of the league leaders in steals, and locks in a lot when he's switched onto bigs in the post.

LBJ on the other hand is straight up garbage on defence, and can't seem to simply will teams to victory anymore. His injury accelerated his decline I think
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Or he's just not in the east anymore where it's always weak every year.

Lakers screwed the pooch on this one. I live in LA Lebron has gone totally Hollywood.... he is now producing TV shows. Who pays anyone 30 million a year to work part-time.

I pay you 30 million a year, i need your full attention. I dont need you running a sports' agency or TV production gig.

He doesn’t need to be the LBJ of years past if LAL gets a 2nd superstar.  KL to Lakers makes them a contender. Aging or not you don’t want to play a team where he’s the #2 guy.  As bad as Magic may be it’s not exactly rocket science to GM the Lakers.

Hezo blocking LeBron and then stared him down  ;D, you can't make this stuff up!
A friend called me: "I had to call you, Hezo just blocked LeBron for the win, and then stared him down!"
Mario is so full of himself, this block will just inflate him more.
The highlight of the year!

Hard to say since there is literally not a single plus defender on the Lakers with Ball injured (except for James).  Not a single one.  Turning up the defense has almost no effect given who is surrounding him.

This is a roster construction problem as much as anything.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

No one defeats father time, and he is having an effect on LeBron.

The making them is great but face it, he only has a  33% win rate at them, and has never dominated the finals themselves.

He is always crying and whining about everything .  Be glade when his tired whining act moves on down the road out of the NBA.

Lebron sitting by himself during time out ,  not being a leader and huddling with his team during critical moments .
