I like, scratch that, LOVE Rudy Fernandez. He's a high energy guy, a proven winner and leader in Europe, can hit his jumpshots, great locker room guy, and maybe he can be a little streaky at times but can light it up when he gets hot. He would be a great fit for this team, and could spell Pierce and/or Allen.

My question is...can we get him?? There's been alot of talk about this guy, but he is under contract with Portland for this upcoming season. Can we get him? What would we have to do?

If Miami is indeed offering Chalmers and a 1st round pick, they likely have the inside track. We just don't have a good salary / talent match.

Now if we hadn't traded Billy Walker? maybe....

I wish it was realistic but I don't believe we have anything that they would want for him besides a first round pick. They don't really have any bad salaries that we could take on for him.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

man, if miami gets him I have to start worrying about whether or not we can really beat them. I'm confident enough that we can with Wade-LBJ-Bosh and a bunch of scrubs, but if they fill out the team with guys like mike miller and rudy fernandez, then they just need a decent defensive big man and they are unbeatable.

Something like Sheed, Gaffney, and Lafayette for Przybilla and Rudy might work, numbers-wise.

Don't know if Portland would be keen on that.

Pryzbilla had surgery and is out until December at the earliest.

I would still do this deal. I would prefer Oden or Aldridge...I'm just sayin'

Boy would I love to have Aldridge on this team.

I know. And that's the only reason why Portland might consider the deal.

There is no way we pry Oden or LA from them.

There are other players that interest me more.

He seems inconsistent and even wild at times.

I'd prefer Mike Miller, Josh Childress or Josh Howard over him.

What a waste of a good player/asset. Nothing against Nate; but that was a bad deal done in desperation. Not convinced Nat for Eddy and a Second rounder would have been better value; but they clearly wanted Walker. Nate did win us a game; but Eddie has done the same many times over.

The last "proven winner" in Europe? Sarunas Jasikevicius. We all know how well he worked out in the NBA.

Maybe Ainge's angle is for portland to sign and trade juwann howard and package him with rudy for sheed's contract?  Donn't they need cap space now that darius miles contract is put back on them?

Sarunas is a great PG. His game just suited better for europe. The last proven player from euroleague that turned out great in NBA is Scola. Of course there are enough examples of others before him.

Next year there will be also Splitter who i'm sure is gonna be great for Spurs.
The Immortals:

Iker Casillas, Giacinto Facchetti, Alessandro Nesta, Matthias Sammer, Javier Zanetti, Lothar Matthäus (c), Xavi, Zico, Maradona, Roberto Baggio, Ferenc Puskas, Karl Heinz Rummenigge

I'd go for that.  Then Sign Tony and Nate:

Rondo/Nate/Avery
Allen/Allen/Avery
Pierce/Fernandez/Harangody
Garnett/Baby
JO/Perk/Howard
