Okay, so I have actually scored a ticket for myself and will be in Pasadena on Thursday for the big game.

I have an uneasy feeling for some reason, but it's only for superficial reasons like Heisman jinxes.  However, I feel like Alabama should win the game if they defend like they did against Florida and can run the ball even semi-effectively.

The fact is, when you take a trip like this to see your team and spend the time and money to do so, you get uneasy.  I know that my presence will have zero effect on the game.  I know that Alabama is 0-7-1 against Texas all-time.  Question is, does any of that matter?

Just vote on who wins and I'll see if my sinking feeling is really just paranoia.

Congrats on the ticket!  That's huge.

Bama has been my second favorite team for as long as I can remember, so I'll be pulling for them.

I'm was torn between SEC loyalty and wanting to see 'Bama get smoked. In the end, I couldn't forgive them for the Shellacking they gave the Rebs in Oxford.

Gotta go with the Crimson Tide. Old HS team name after all. We tides have to stick together. There's just not a lot of us.

KC...you have to stick with the SEC.  We have nothing but love for the Grove.   ;)

Of course, according to reports, Bob Stoops had been in Tuscaloosa during the Christmas break and visited with Saban.  I don't think he was there trying to help out his fellow Big 12 team.

My brother rode through Scottsdale yesterday about 2 p.m. on his way to Pasadena and he said that my nephew stuck his head out of the car window holding an Alabama shaker and asked some Boise St. fans, "Which way is it to the Rose Bowl?"  followed by a very sarcastic, "Ooooooo!"    ;D

Terrible considering the fact that we have a great Texas team on our hands Thursday, but it still made me laugh.

As a UGA fan, got to stick with the SEC (unless FL was there).

Join the Gator haters.

You ought to hear the Auburn fans calling in to talk radio here in Birmingham.  The hate speech is at an all-time high.

Just remembered that I never chimed in on this and we're almost at gametime.

First of all, RAcker, that's awesome that you'll be in Pasadena and at the game.  Very cool.  I've always wanted to catch an event at the Rose Bowl.  Can't beat a national title game.

The wise guys have the line at Alabama -4 which I think is about right when considering how both teams finished their respective championship games and level of competition faced all season.  (SEC being a so-so year but Big 12 clearly having a down year).

Both teams have incredible defenses and are some of the best in the land at stopping the run.  I really think its going to come down to which QB can lead his team better.  McElroy is a heckuva game manager and played exceptionally well in the SEC Championship Game.  McCoy's had his ups and downs this season but is still one of the best QBs in college football.  His receivers need to find ways to get open.

My gut tells me that this game is going to be a grinder.  Not a high scoring affair.  I also think it'll be pretty tight.  Alabama looked incredible in the SEC Championship Game while Texas floundered in the Big 12 title game.  I think the month off might straighten out that discrepency.

My heart tells me 'Bama in a squeaker but I'll be pulling hard for the Longhorns.  Outside of Boston College, they're my team.
