About the only positive I can think of at this stage is that the current snide is happening as we approach the trade deadline and it is apparent that the roster, as currently constructed, has some flaws that can hopefully be addressed with some roster changes.

The big difference to last year is that last year they started off slow, then were playing like bandits for the six weeks or so heading into the all-star break. So it appeared as though the team had found it's rhythm and I will always maintain the Danny was right to stand pat at the trade deadline. The team was playing exceptionally well. it was only after the trade deadline they played .500 ball for the rest of the season.

Sheesh another slow slow start. I am just mystified about it at this point.

i historically blame this on the coach .  His job to energize, set the tone and put the right people on the court .

I think I'm gonna need to take a break from paying attention to this team game-by-game for a week or two.  I can see this is going to get negative again even though I dont' think there's a tidy narrative to what's going on, nor do I think it's useful to specifically blame any one person for the current struggles.

It's a combination of fatigue, injuries, and cold shooting.  But it is a bummer and the team has gone from fun to frustrating in a big way in a span of a few weeks.

Lol. Good to see you didn’t actually rise to the occasion with any evidence to support your constant negativity.

In fact, you just ignored the post all together, despite saying you’d respond to it. Bravo!

Another loss and this time it's at home.

The excuses has to stop.

Just look at Ayton's numbers against the Celts.

Suns showed the Celts how to play inside-outside basketball.

Every time the Celts tried to rally, Suns pound the ball inside.

When Celts collapse inside, Suns throw the ball out for an open 3.

That's why I think the Celts are not a balanced team.

There's just too much reliance on the wing players and outside shots.

It's time for Ainge to junk the GSW model and make the Celts a more balanced team.

This is not just a slump, this is a pattern.

Its smart

Celts have no inside presence

It was really comical seeing a 6-6 Grant Williams against a 7-foot Ayton inside the paint.

The Celts are 8th in the league in points in the paint per game.

9th in rebounding rate, 11th DREB, 7th OREB.

So again I'm not really seeing this being a size thing.  It just doesn't bear out.

Free throws attempted per offensive play -- the Celts are down to 19th.  I think that's been a slow trend downward.

Opponent free throws attempted per offensive play -- Celts are down to 17th.  I think that's also been trending downward.

The free throws can be explained as a size issue, but I don't know if that necessarily makes sense.  Generating free throws can be a result of using size inside; it can also be a result of using speed and agility / ballhandling to create openings that force the opponent to foul you.  I think it's more a function of aggression on offense and a function of defensive cohesiveness / discipline on defense.
