  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
I gotta admit that I'm a little worried that this might interrupt, delay, or cause us to miss out on the NBA playoffs in a season in which I have been greatly anticipating the playoffs with no clear juggernaut like GS or the Lebron Heat, and with a great Celtics team too. The playoffs this year have been shaping up to be very exciting, it would really suck to miss out on them

While I feel the same, I'm okay with this.

Lives are at stake here....

This is just basketball. I couldn't imagine someone like Tommy contracting the disease and dying from it.
Tommy wouldn't be the only guy associated with the team I would be worried about. Would hate to see Danny get sick.

Absolutely, anyone can get effected regardless of age, but the older the person, the severity the illness.

Sweat, hand checking, and close proximity could be disastrous.

It's based on your perspective, quite simply
We're the same and we're not; know what I'm saying? Listen
Son, I ain't better than you, I just think different

Two of my best friends are in NCAA athletics at the Division1 level. One is a Sports Information Director at a major conference school and the other an Assistant Athletic Director at a mid major school.

Been texting with them and they are telling me that today has been an absolute crapshow. Sending students home, deciding what to do with the athletes, talking of cancelling spring sports, talking about how to travel without putting kids at risk in planes, playing in the NCAA tourney where my friend at a major conference is sure to get a bid, and then all the logistics once decisions are made. Both guys said they had like 18 hour work days the last two days and probably will be the same today.

NBA season suspended. Gobert has Covid-19

Worth noting, but Gobert was apparently out with an illness today.

ESPN reported the arena was full and pregame player introductions were done when officials got together to delay the game which then was postponed.

Has to be more info we don't know about yet.

Will everyone get a refund? I hope so.

This has already passed the point of insanity, but I think the fans - especially those in attendance - deserve to know why this game was cancelled just moments before tipoff.

I’d be outraged if I made the trek to the game, paid for parking and overpriced food/drinks... only to be ordered to leave instantly.

Well they also deserve to be informed if the game was called due to corona virus.

We know nothing yet, but boy IF someone did test positive for coronavirus, then forget just this game, I think an entire NBA season could be cancelled if the players suddenly get it.
