Things I've seen this team overcome so far this year...would be a stumbling block LAST year.

That SAC game a few days ago year would've probably resulted in a 3-4 game LOSING streak LAST YEAR...we'd fold too often against adversity in 2018-19.

New team this year and the NBA will soon be on notice. This team - all of a sudden - seems to have some serious guile about them.

To win we have to work very hard on defense. One crappy half against the Kings cost us.
I am not certain that intensity can be maintained through a long season.
Throw that number out if we’d pick up either a veteran shooter or rotation worthy wing along the line.

If everybody stays fit and Hayward comes back and contributes how he had been prior to his injury, I can see the Celtics going 55. That may be conservative if everybody stays fit and Hayward comes back well. All things considered, 50 could be a fair bet. I have faith in the team to keep producing.

When you look at it that way not overly crazy to think this is now a 55-60 win team

provided reasonable health for everyone and Hayward returns to the level of play he's shown this year with no more than a couple of games to get back in the swing of things -->  I'd say 55-60 wins would be a pretty fair estimate.  as bad as 44-25 or as good as 49-20 the rest of the year.

I try not to over react to early season record, the C's started like 16-2 like two seasons ago and ended up at 55 wins, which means they finished 39-25. Now of course injuries were a part of that. But thats the point, stuff happens. They're one 3 game losing streak away from drastically changing their projection.

That said I think this team has the talent and fit so that if injures are avoided high fifties are possible.

To start the season I said 47-49. The team is showing to be better than that. I will change it to 53-55

I'd say in the low 50's at this point, so I will go with 53.

According to BBReference.com, last year's team should have won 52 games instead of the 49 it did. Using 52 as a basis for what a team with normal chemistry should have done, and looking at the current team stats, I think 58-60 is the right range by the numbers. I think of 55 wins as a pretender and 60 wins as a contender as a general rule and the Cs clearly fit into one of those categories as opposed to where they've been pegged.  Also, the statistical leaps that individuals have made this year have been startling and I have no reason to disbelieve them based on what I've seen.


BTW, Brown and Tatum are one of the very best duos in the league. This is a good article from The Ringer with the numbers.

Looks like everybody's prediction was waaaay off esp in the high 50s and low 60s lol.

48 wins. One win less than last season's. There is, of course, the bubble that condensed the season but I thought the C's should've played a little better overall with the talent they have early in the season.
