Starting Assumptions:
1. Charlotte would like to move Kemba for something now rather than nothing later.  They would probably like young assets back and are able to take on a couple years of contracts as long as it doesn’t put them in the tax.
2. Minnesota should be willing to trade Wiggins if value presents itself as he doesn’t fit well with Butler.  Also, there were the rumors of tension with KAT.
3. Things with Kawhi in SAS seem to be heading towards beyond repair.  They’d prefer to get some value back before seeing him walk next offseason.

The trade:  http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yceqp6bl

Charlotte trades Kemba, MKG, and Cody Zeller for Jeff Teague, Wiggins, and Justin Patton.  They basically begin to shift towards a younger window by swapping Kemba for a 5-year younger Wiggins as the new face of the franchise.

SAS trades Kawhi for MKG and KAT.  KAT is among the best future assets I’ve seen coming SA’s way in any reported trade ideas.  Awkward fit right now with LMA and Pau, but a player they can build their future around who can learn a thing or 2 from LMA and Pau.

TWolves trade Teague, Wiggins, Towns, and Patton for Kemba, Kawhi, and Zeller.  The TWolves get a needed shake up and acquire the best player in the deal in Kawhi.  A starting lineup of Kemba, Butler, Kawhi, Taj Gibson, and Zeller/Dieng is strong.  Their top 3 players are all between 26-28 years old.  Not sure how else Minnesota ever acquires an MVP candidate outside of drafting one.

I don't see it happening, but imagining Thibs abusing Kawhi is tough.
He would age in dog years there.

Can't see Kawhi resigning in Minn. Guy wants to go back to the west coast. This may be an issue with the Cs trading for him. He might like Boston, but won't resign as he's set on being on the west coast.

There's no way he resigns with them.  I wouldn't trade KAT for Kemba and Kawi, with Kawi only having 1 year left.  This trade moves TWolves back 5 years and puts them into the lottery after Butler leaves (and he will).

Kawhi already said he's going to LA one Way or another in 2019. So why would any team part ways with assets for a guy who wants to go to LA? Terrible trade idea

If Walker, Butler and Leonard walk next season in free agency Minnesota has kind of a problem?

Indeed a terrible idea. I'm still very high on Towns he should be untouchable. Trading Wiggins (and or Teague) I would advice if there's one team (like maybe Memphis or Charlotte) that wants to build a future around him.

What if neither LA team has cap space to sign him in 2019?

We hear Lebron wants to go to LA, Paul George wants to go to LA, Kawhi wants to go to LA.  Well, the city only has two teams and those two teams have a finite amount of cap space which might not be able to fit a Kawhi max contract in 2019.
