Dude has been around guys like Jermaine O'Neal, Penny, Mike Miller. and he played overseas with grown professionals. Kid is going to contribute on Day 1, imo.

Everybody needs Gatorade, so yeah.

It doesn't seem like he's good at any one thing. He played with grown men but have you seen some of these college kids? They're very much grown. (a little sarcasm) Anyway, he's shown flashes so if he's been working hard and is allowed to show something in person or taped, unedited workouts, then maybe he'll be considered but I would not take such a gamble with pick 14 at this time. Maybe in another draft.

Apparently he averaged 8.8ppg on 40% shooting in the NBL playing 20 min a game for New Zealand. That's ok I guess?

His body looks like it needs ALOT of work not like Langford who had more of an NBA body coming in.  He looks to be very quick with a good handle though.

Anthony Edwards:
33mpg
19ppg
5.2rpg
2.8apg
1.3spg

.54 point per minute
.15 rebound per minute
.08 assist per minute
.04 steal per minute

RJ Barrett
20.5 mpg
8.8 ppg
3.9 rpg
2.3 apg
1.1 spg

.43 point per minute
.18 rebound per minute
.11 assist per minute
.05 steal per minute

He actually did quite well in New Zealand. And if his shot is improving like Miller and Penny state it is, he will be a legit scoring threat and a very intriguing lead guard.

this game is now over a year ago and was early on in Hamptons season but its a nice glimpse into how Hampton could function on a NBA court. Matched up against SGA, Schroeder, Paul and Dialo and with inferior teammates he didnt look great but also didnt look lost. Its easy to see that he will be able to get to the paint as the PG of an NBA team. Shot and strength will dictate his ceiling.

It's also worth noting that RJ Hampton was also forced into more of an off-ball role on his NBL team, which is sure to have impacted his numbers to a certain degree.

But he cannot shoot..oh, right, Perfect Danny guy...ugh....I would really prefer an offensive threat with our first pick...Under 30% from 3 and under 70% for FT and underwhelming 2 pt FG as well...What am I missing besides another player we hope will learn how to shoot the ball better.

Looks OK, definitely NBA caliber.  Hard to project just how good of an NBA player.  He looked very fluid and could play to the speed of the game but his jumper looked clunky for sure.

How about Robert Loe (#15).  I thought he looked decent.  6'-11", 29 years old but better than Poirier for example.

The Knicks would beg to disagree. ;)
