I know it would be extremely difficult but given they have Vucevic locked down, could we talk Bamba into asking for a trade with the promise of a starting centre spot on a championship contender. It would take a hefty package but IMO Bamba is the perfect centre for Stevens system and Tatum as he doesn’t clog the lane, spread the floor, gobbles up rebounds and blocks. I think it would take Memphis pick, multiple Celtics picks, Langford and Time Lord.

Yes it’s a long shot but it’s worth a try

He's garbage and more concerned with making music than playing basketball

What is the appeal of Bamba, what is his skill?
Except being tall.

If I am giving up a big package, then I need more of a guarantee. One of last year’s crop of rookie centers would be more interesting. Not that any of them are available, but Jaylen is a pretty enticing piece if that’s what you are willing to give up.

But he can't do either.

He is already a very good rebounder.

The defense is still a work in progress but you can see the talent that is there. He can make plays defensively that very few other players in the league are capable of making because of his size, length and quickness. With more time and work, he can be an All-League defender.

Perhaps, but he looks so non-explosive, light and fragile. Also, his shot is questionable.
Brown is explosive, strong, defends, can shoot and plays the position of a need.

We have a hole at a center spot ATM, but that is the most replaceable position in the league by far.

I agree, I am not trading Jaylen for Bamba either. Bamba is too unproven to give up someone of Jaylen's proven talent & potential to improve further. I wouldn't give up the Memphis pick either.

If there was any other type of way to make a deal, I would be interested. Something based around Marcus Smart and other draft picks. It is a bit of long shot that Orlando would do that so soon after investing a high pick in Bamba but it is worth investigating.

I don't like his shot that much either. What bothers me more is his lack of passing. That is what is holding him back the most from seeing court time. The offense craters when he comes on the court because he is a non-passer with dodgy shot selection. If he just played defense, rebounded and passed the ball ... he would've gotten more court time.

He's coming off his rookie season which was cut very short because of injury
