As unlikely as it is that Horford ever wears Green again, I have to ask.

Is it possible to resign him and than simply sign and trade Rozier for Kemba who is signed and traded? Is that possible under the Cap?

If we just straight up resign Al, are we forbidden from trading for Kemba..... even if we match salaries? There has to be a way to absorb Kemba from Charlotte, send out money, after resigning Al right?

Again this is a pipe dream, but man I wish it could happen. Horford and Walker would makes us true contenders imo.

I merged your thread with this on as salty actually goes over a realistic scenario that could get Horford and Walker on the team.

So that's 2 out of 3 steps done. Could this actually happen?

If Danny is somehow able to sign and trade Kyrie to Nets to allow us keeping Horford, we all better set up a gofundme to build his shrine cause it would be beyond epic.

Having Horford and Kemba is possible if the Celts trade some players.

But for it to work, Horford must agree to a contract similar to that of Marcus Smart.

Horford made it clear he's choosing more money over loyalty to the Celts.

So the short answer is no, Horford and Kemba is not possible.

I don’t think we’ll see Horford back but it was cool knowing it was possible. Unlikely but possible.

I think it is possible, if Horford’s 5 year deal fell through, he could sign a max contract with our remaining cap room, then we use our bird rights to sign and trade Rozier to the Hornets for Walker and perhaps throw in a pick to the Hornets

What are you talking about? Salty literally just showed in the OP how it is possible to keep Al with the kind of money he is looking for without trading any of our main guys that weren’t leaving anyways (Kyrie, and Terry).

Brooklyn not wanting to cooperate and help out a divisional rival is the most likely reason why this won’t happen.

Let’s say everyone from Brooklyn to Charlotte to Horford want to do this.

When we complete a sign and trade aren’t we hard capped at 132.7 mil?

Factoring in Kembas contract and the fact that we have to fill out the roster won’t that preclude us from reaching thenrumored 25+mil a season horford is demanding?

I think the hard cap is $6m over the tax line so that would be $138,627,000

Thanks!

I had thought the hard cap was set at the tax line.

We probably shouldn’t get our hopes up about Al:

A well-placed league source tells The Sacramento Bee the Kings are expected to make a massive offer to Al Horford when free agency begins at 3 p.m. PDT, and there is mutual interest on both sides. I'm told Horford's camp has not scheduled meetings with any teams today.

Kings also said no to Cousins for coming back. Divac wants a center who can run and space floor and hit threes. That sounds like Horford to a tee.

Well, on the bright side, at least we don't hold next year's Kings' first round pick as our biggest trade asset!

Hearing Al is going to get 4 years and over 115 million on this deal.

This is most likely why the Cs backed away so early.
