  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
OOOOOOOOOkayyyyyy. If you're like me, you can't really bear to look at another post about the trade. I can't read another "Kendrick Perkins was just a role player!" post anymore than I can read another "We're done! Stick a fork in us!" post. You can take them all.

Today, there isn't a game, the deadline is passed, and buyouts haven't really started yet. All we have to do today is nothin' so we can either spend it kvetching about the trade, or we can have some fun. That's why I welcome you to:

FRIDAY AFTERNOON TRIVIA, ELEVENTEENTH EDITION: VIDEO GAMES

Simple Rules:

1) If there is a question already on the board, attempt to answer it before you ask your own, and if you asked a question that nobody answered, answer your own Q before you as another..and try not to spam the thread with questions.

2) You know the rules about profanity and innuendo and vulgarity. Don't use the thread as an example to talk about Tifa's ta-tas.

3) If any of you mention the Perkins trade, heaven help you.

Awards: I'll award arbitrary TP's for questions asked and answered...and if someone answers your question correctly, tell them, and give them some TP's. I don't care how many.

Alright. Here is the first one:

Question: What pre 2000's game allowed you to fight, fall in love, dance, buy stuff from convenience stores, have a job, drive a forklift, learn martial arts from a Japanese guy with dredlocks, and one of the bosses you fight is Gollum, from Lord of the Rings?

Name the classic horror game that featured invisible spiders, monkeys with psychic powers, suicidal C3P0s, robot ninjas, and mutated humans who begged for death as they attacked you.

That sounds like a dream Robert Downey Jr might have had during his "dark times".

Man I have no idea.

Personally, I love the old games ... I still have (and use) Playstation, Nintendo 64, GameCube, etc. ... guess I'm sentimental. Your description reminded me of Heavenly Sword at first, but that's much too recent, (2007?).

I'll wait a bit to see if anyone gets it.  Some extra hints:

This was a PC-only game, second in a series, that never got a proper sequel but did get a very popular "spiritual sequel" just a few years ago (on PC and consoles).

You are correct sir!  The spiritual sequel was Bioshock, of course.  TP given.

It's still the scariest game I've ever played, by far.  To give an example for those who haven't played, here's the mutant dialogue I mentioned.  Bear in mind these are the most common enemies in the game, and you can hear them a long time before you see them:

Still gives me chills.

Question: Which character can you choose to save or kill in Mass Effect 1 that eventually ends up ruling his homeworld?
