For about a year now, I've unintentionally looked at the clock at 9:11 pm nearly every other night. Sometimes, multiple nights in a row. It's kind of creepy, obviously because of 9-11. I've always tried to figure out what it was, and why this kept happening.

Well, while this is a reach, hear me out:

The Celtics have won 8 of 10 championships against the Lakers. Winning this one would make it 9 out of 11.

I understand the fact that I am a sick individual, but what do you think?

Very odd, but as a kid, 9:11 was always a good luck time for me.  Several times, good things happened, and I looked up and it was 9:11.  Then 9/11 happened, and the number combination was pretty much doomed, obviously.

It's a little strange / spooky that you posted a thread on something similar.

Here is my personal omen, and why I don't hold it against the C's that they had to go to game 7 in each of the first series.

I had a vacation planned so I was getting back on May 19th.  I didn't mind missing any games in the second round, but I have been saying for months that I just didn't want to miss game 1 and 2 of the ECF (if they lost in the second round, I didnt want to be there for it anyways).

It just so happened that the only way I would be able to go to game 1 was if the first two rounds both went 7 games, otherwise, game 1 would have moved up to the 17th or earlier.

So I look at it as fate that let the C's take their time in the first two rounds, before finding their stride.  Now they have found it, and they will cruise.

I think a lot of people have this phenomenon going on.  I think you might look at another, random time just as much as the other, but you don't notice because it isn't 9:11.  Whenever you see those two numbers together it signals a response in your mind.

What time is the tip off of Game 1?  Gotta be around 10 minutes after the coverage starts at 9, 9:11 perhaps?
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

People don't realize that a lot of bad things have happened on 9/11. And some good things.

William Wallace (Braveheart) defeated the English in that first huge battle on that day

The Hope diamond was stolen

France took over a country (I know. It seems impossible, but they did)

The song Oh Susanna was first performed (in a saloon in Pittsburgh)

Mormons massacred a bunch of people

The Jewish Colonization Association was founded

America invaded Honduras

They started building the Pentagon

The Ford Pinto was introduced

Pete Rose broke Ty Cobb's hits record

Bush Sr threatened to remove Iraqi troops from Kuwait

Russia tested the largest conventional weapon ever

It's Tom Landry's birthday and Moby and Ludacris

[dang it]. I thought something else happened that day, but it didn't
