Corey Haim Found Dead
Posted Mar 10th 2010 8:08AM by TMZ Staff
Actor Corey Haim died this morning of an apparent overdose -- possibly accidental -- according to LAPD. He was 38.

Police tell us they were called to St. Joseph's hospital in Burbank, CA shortly before 4AM PT to investigate.

Haim shot to fame in the 80s -- when he co-starred in a number of films, including "The Lost Boys," with Corey Feldman.

Story developing...

Was a huge fan of his growing up, but he was clearly troubled just like the other Corey is. No surprise here, but yeah was a big fan of his when he was younger.

I knew Corey through a mutual friend at Berklee and still exchanged emails from time-to-time, and while this isn't a surprise, it's profoundly sad ... I had hoped and prayed for a long time that he would escape the demons that have haunted him since childhood, (Feldman has straightened his life out and is doing extremely well now).

An amazingly talented musician, artist and actor who was incredibly sensitive and thoughtful of others, but his own worst enemy. My prayers and thoughts are with him and his family and friends who tried to get through to him for so long but just could not. Rest in peace, Haim ... you can soar now, my friend. Today is a sorrowful day, indeed.

Bummer about Haim.

Lost Boys, Lucas, Silver Bullet... Guy was definitely a part of some solid '80s movies.

Don't be involved with drugs, unless you're only cooking them.

Sad thing for this to happen..I remember the guy from Lost Boys...and wasn't he in The Ghoulies? Or was that The Goonies? That crazy flick from the late 80's about the teenagers that went on that treasure hunt and found that old Galleon? And that young kid that had those gadgets (that didn't work ;D) in his jacket?

And Lucas?

God Bless him and RIP.

It was the other Corey (Feldman) who was in Goonies.

My favorite movie with the two Coreys was Dream a Little Dream, from 87 or 88, which features Jason Robards, and has Corey Feldman doing his Michael Jackson dance routine.  The style of the film sort of captured a moment in time when grunge was about to kick in and you could see it coming.  I loved it back then.  But if I saw it now, I'm afraid I would feel it's a piece of crap, so I probably won't watch it again.
