Orlando is small and does not shoot well from 3. I would rather play them.

Orlando is a much bigger team than Cleveland.

Both Orlando and Cleveland have size, but I'd pick Orlando for sure. Young, inexperienced team and while they have some nice pieces, they also don't have a "killer" right now like what Mitchell is for the Cavaliers. I'd be wary of Cleveland's size AND Mitchell.

I think whoever wins tonight wins the series. If Cavs win, Cavs in 7. If Magic win, Magic in 6

Their bigs aren't nearly as productive as Mobley and Allen. The Wagners don't want to get down and bang. Carter is more of the same. Issac does not scare me. I think Allen and Mobley would do some damage on the boards keeping more possessions alive.

Cleveland.  We already lost to Orlando because of a Mo Wagner revenge game.  I don’t need a Mo Wagner revenge series.

Oh, no, it's fine. The rule is one revenge game but no revenge series. Besides, how could it be worse than Caleb Martin. That guy turns into Ditka from the old SNL skits ("Da Bears!") every time he plays us.

At the end of the day we should beat either CLE/ORL in 6 games even without KP. They each could impose some unique problems but ultimately if the Jays and the others show up, we are still better than those teams talent-wise. It only gets real dicey if we play with the effort level as Game 2 this round.

Just keep going back to the fact Orlando just does not shoot well esp from 3. That really limits the damage they can do to Boston.

Celticinorlando wants Orlando. I wonder why  ;)

The C’s really making a bunch of C’s fans sweat with this delay in announcing the KP imaging results. Feels like we usually know these things by early afternoon the next day, so hopefully we’ll hear something soon.

Well, with KP’s injury now up in the air, who do you think is our best matchup for the next round between Cleveland and Orlando? It has to be Orlando who we want, right?

Feels like not having KP during that round is much less of a loss than against Cleveland, who have bigs we need to draw out of the paint. Orlando is more of a perimeter defensive team, too, and I think they’re much less explosive offensively.

Neither team is particularity explosive offensively. Cleveland has the best individual offensive player of the two teams in Mitchell, but their lack of spacing due to the two bigs and no real wing shooters puts a hard cap on their offense.

In truth I don't think either team really poses much of threat even without KP. The bets way to beta the Celtics is to take and make threes, and neither Cleveland or Orlando do that enough to make me think they can outshout the C's 4 times in 7 games. Those both feel like 5 game series to me, maybe six at most if the c's get unlucky shooting variance.

Lets say KP is out like 4 weeks which would be through basically the EC Finals. Assuming Indiana and New York take care of business against MIL and Phili I think Boston would still be favored against all of Cleveland, Orlando, New York and Indiana.

The first three of those teams just don't have enough offensive firepower. Boston will still have bare minimum four shooters and for about 2/3 of the game 5 shooters on the court at all times with Horford at Center. In order to beat the C's elite perimeter D you'll have to hit threes, and i just don't think those teams will do it enough.

Strangely I think Indianan might be the biggest threat. They have enough offensive poop to win a series but are also, by far, the worst defensive team of that lot.

I don't know, Boston was 21-3 without KP this year and this quality of team (good, but not elite) seems very winnable even without him.

I live in Columbus now so I selfishly would like the Cavs to win to be able to attend a game. But I think Orlando would be a safer match up.

The Knicks are the only team in the East of a moderate concern because they play tough physical ball and rebound very well.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip
