Grizzlies have played with a lot of confidence. Anything less than our best effort will be disappointing.

Use that Laker win to motivate!

Hoping JB is good to go.

Marcus Smart guarding Morant?
Ja would murder Smart tbh, I hope Jaylen can play.
Jaylen Brown for All-NBA

What would you think that?

Morant murders pretty much everybody lately, but I expect the comment is based on some of the quicker guards being able to get by Smart. Smart is more exceptional in his strength than his lateral movement.

That said, I think "murder" is too strong a word, and especially in crunch time. Smart's too crafty; he watches a guy, learns his tendencies, picks his spots. So I don't think Smart would go all out on Ja all game long, but if we need a cobra strike at the end of a close game, in Marcus I trust. I actually also think Kemba could do better on the rookie than people expect.

Yeah you got it right. I don't think Smart's quick enough to check Morant, the lad's burst is pretty ridiculous. Btw I do think that Smart can check Morant decently if he turns it up, but he won't last the whole game doing so. We pretty much need Jaylen out there to check Morant one on one imo, although Brad could always whip out some nasty zone defence to take Morant's drive away.
Jaylen Brown for All-NBA

Am I the only person who thinks Smart is actually a better matchup for Morant???

Brown is such a huge loss. He is becoming two way elite...

No you're not. Brown has proven to be essential for us.

Hopefully we can still beat Memphis, though. We shouldn't need Brown if Kemba, Hayward, and Tatum all show up.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Look for De'Anthony Melton, who is their X-factor dude, punching up a weight class to guard Jaylen and Jayson.

I would like to see Waters play in this game....let's use more of his 45 game allotment.  I think his instincts as a pure PG help the C's get into a good flow.  Plus pesky style defense very useful.

Fellow Melton fan here!  Also becoming a fan of Delon Wright in Dallas.

Grizz leads NBA points in paint.

They are young whilst being 8-2 in their last ten.

Morant is ROY material, but, who else is there? Jackson is one of one of their bigs and is having a bigger 3 pt year (40%).
Brooks is the 3pt shooter with 239 attempts at 39% this year.
Jonas V- they run a system that works for him.
Taylor Jenkins runs a ten bear rotation...Stevens runs a 7 1/2 man rotation.

These guys don't want to play Boston tonight. The Celtics play more defense than these bears want to deal with. Yogi and boo boo will be thinking picnic baskets by late in the third.

That really hurts. The Team is better both ways with Jaylen on the court.

Dig the yogi reference.

Valanciunas is one to watch. He's the kind of player that Theis or Kanter may have trouble with, and he's been playing well lately.
