Going to laugh if new Orleans picks him

http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/26757427/grizz-make-known-pick-morant

Should the Grizzlies proceed with drafting Morant as expected, the road will be cleared for Duke's RJ Barrett -- the presumptive No. 1 pick in the draft entering the season -- to land in New York with the Knicks, who pick third. Sources said that Barrett would be ecstatic to end up in New York but that the franchise will do its due diligence in exploring trade options, as well as work out other players projected to be selected in the top 10.

Good for us. That just means it’s more likely that Conley is a goner in a trade.

Yeah, can't imagine that super young Grizzlies team being very good. Jonas V will likely opt in, but he doesn't really generate wins
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

I wonder if Memphis is looking to trade down? really doesn't benefit them to tell the world unless they wanna get trade offers. Not saying they wanna trade the pick but I'm sure they'd listen to anyone who has an offer.

this is why ainge never talks

Imagine if he made it known he liked tatum. He really didn't make any public attention towards tatum other than giving him 2 work outs

This might be what Memphis want though

Right now, this is the super-obvious thing to do. However, would they be stuck with a draft promise to Morant if NOP did something crazy and chose Barrett instead?

I agree with others that it makes a lot more sense to just keep quiet even if there is almost no doubt they take anybody else.

This is probably their first time having a lottery pick. Inexperienced.

But NOP is not gonna pick some one else, there is zero chance. And yes I know that it is physically possible for them t pick someone else, and anything can happen, blah, blah blah. But it won't. Zion will go one, and most everyone else has Morant at 2 right now anyway.

Hawks have 8 and 10.  I wonder if they might be interested in going up there for Barrett.  Not sure what else it might take as I don't think 8 and 10 alone is enough to get to 2, but that would be an interesting move for Atlanta and Memphis.

Think the Lakers are done with Ball?  If so, maybe Ball and 4 for 2.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

That is not enough. Not in this draft.

I think Morant may be best player in draft
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Like the previous poster, I think this is good news for the C's pick because it maximizes the chance that the Grizzlies part with Conley.

The next question would be: How good would Morant be in terms of wins and losses? Could he help duplicate what happened to us this year with the Sacramento pick? A couple years ago I'd say no way, a team led by a rookie point guard, even a great one, is going nowhere, because it takes time to learn the PG position in the NBA. But after what Trae Young and Luka Doncic did this past season, I'm not so sure anymore.
