Does this team win a title, assuming health?

Horford / Baynes
Tatum / Theis / Ojeleye
Kawhi
Hayward
Kyrie / Smart

Gone are Brown, Morris and Rozier.

Assume we fill out the roster with the Taxpayer’s MLE and vet minimum deals.

Can that team win it all? How do they match up with the Warriors?

I gotta think yes. That bench is real weak, but that starting 5 is all time great, although sort of awkward and positionless.

It's close but chemistry gives an edge to Warriors. Talent wise I'd pick that C's team over Warriors.

If everybody is healthy, they look like the Warriors’ equal, at least. Big if, though.

One thing though - if we send Brown, Morris, Rozier, we are still a few million short on salaries so we’d need to send out another player or two from our current roster. Adding Yabu and Semi would do it. It’s a real concern of using Brown to get Kawhi - you really might have to empty the cupboard. Vet rentals might be ok, but those are short term fixes instead of pretty good role players on longer term deals. And you’ll also have to give up picks - no more cost-controlled talent coming in that way.

I see the appeal, but I like the current team enough that I’d rather run it back and tinker at the edges.

Yeah.  Yabu + Nader bridges that gap, and I see them as pretty irrelevant to our championship hopes.

Love Kawhi (and LeBron) but I "REALLY" believe that a healthy Kyrie and Hayward places us in the Finals next year with a GREAT shot at winning it.

Our Scoring Big Three could be Kyrie, Hayward and Tatum or JB.

Big Al will have some good nights as well - match ups depending.

I'm really hesitant about blowing up this team - even partially - to get Kawhi or LeBron.

I know it's hard but we've got to stay put with what we have HERE. Dig the trenches, don't move ANY pieces, circle the wagons, let our HOME COURT advantage drive opponents batty, and WIN.

Look, as good as GSW looked if it weren't for a few boneheaded decisions CLE would've taken game 1. Take game one and that could've gone on to be an interesting series.

Trust "OUR" process....don't make ANY moves......must be careful with chemistry.

Definitely approve of sending Nader instead of Semi. The health really is a concern for me. Three guys coming off major injuries - and Kawhi has had serious injuries to *both* knees.

You would not give up Rozier in rhe deal. Find other players to fill the money part

I am ok letting Morris go.

Also you have to add to the rotation who they draft this year. Have to think it is a guard of some sort

If you can get some kind of commitment from Leonard, you always do this deal.

Tyreke on MLE sounds great to round our the bench.

Could certainly have a chance.

But there's no way I'd give up Brown. Kawhi has let it be known he wants to go to LA. Too much of a gamble.

Tyreke earned $11 million last year. Why does he take $5 million from us? Some players chase rings but that’s a heck of a pay cut. Somebody will offer him more, especially after last year.

He actually made $3.3 million on a one year deal, I think.

Interesting I didn't think the Warriors had good chemistry at all this year. Way to much hero ball out of Durant and Curry, they didn't pass much IMO.

Anyway to answer the question that team could win but IMO the team we have now has just as good a chance to win. It would have better depth giving Brad better rotations.

That team is definitely a contender, but I think we already are.  I wouldn't do the trade.  It weakens the bench a lot after having to match salaries and there's no guarantee Kawhi signs an extension.  Plus, Brown is five years younger, has been injury free, and is much cheaper.  Maybe, the main reason I don't want to do the trade is because I'd like to watch Brown continue to grow.  He has improved so much already, has a great work ethic and attitude, and he's our guy.  Sometimes, sentimentality wins out in the eyes of a fan.

I do not think they make any major moves other than resigning smart and Baynes and adding some shooting off the bench as well as adding a guard with the 27 pick.

A lot of noise here but I can see them standing pat and they prolly should
