An inappropriate personal relationship I don't think would impact Ime's relationship with the players. Heck, my guess is that more than a couple of these guys have their own 'side hustle's' in various cities - if history is any indicator. This is, after all, the NBA.

The fact that the players play for him is likely to provide him with an awfully long rope to hang himself with. Now his personal life may be a mess, but I don't see him losing his job over this.  Especially if the relationship was consensual.

This sucks. Hopefully this doesn’t ruin any chemistry or buy-in with the team or anything. However, I do think some are blowing this a bit out of the water, depending who the person is. I think you’ll see a 5-10 game suspension and a fine, and that’ll be that.

After what Ime did last season, you have to give him another chance. But he’s certainly on a tiny leash now, and if it’s clear he’s lost the locker room then we need to cut ties sooner rather than later and hope this doesn’t sour the Jays perception of the team.

If it’s indeed sexual/power-dynamic related, particularly if he has a substance use disorder, suspend him for a year to keep the players who are loyal to him tuned in, and simply have Brad as coach/GM since there’s no time to reasonably hire a replacement and it’s just a temporary thing. After Brad coaches us to 18, quietly separate with Udoka in the off-season or try to rehabilitate his image if that’s what Brad wants and the situation becomes tolerated by the public. Crisis averted.

Adversity builds character. This is JT’s and JB’s opportunity to shine.

What is the point of retaining him then? Having someone else coach us for the entire season, regardless of result, makes Udoka's position untenable.

I gotta think Brad, who seems to be a very honourable and dedicated family man, will be seething at this.

Welp, that far exceeds my "significant suspension" guestimation. 3 months becoming 12 months (or really a full 82 games plus playoffs).

Is Brad gonna look for an entirely new coaching replacement, or is he gonna do the same thing he's been doing with banged up players-- next man up from the bench lol

A year?  That doesn't sound like a punishment for a simple inappropriate consensual relationship.

Yeah, unless we get some really serious details on this, I'm not buying the full season suspension... that's beyond dumb for having an affair. A consensual one at that.
