Maybe it is Ime's camp sending out rumors that the Nets decided to hire him

Maybe it is Ime's camp sending out rumors that the Nets decided to hire him

I think it's more likely they didn't anticipate the backlash to the hiring and are looking for an escape hatch.

Or perhaps he’s having cold feet? They (Nets) probably put the rumor out there to see how people react.

Tsai had to go public about Kyrie"s anti-semetism and put up with that PR nightmare and now maybe has decided that Marks decision to bring in a possible work place power abuser of women would only stir up another crap show and told Marks to look elsewhere for a coach.

Yeah, I can easily see the Nets owner trying to explain why he hired an accused sexual abuser after taking no action against Kyrie for supporting anti-semetic views. Not a good look at all for your business.

But it was a surprise that Ime was leaked as a potential replacement.

And somehow them targeting Ime is going to be a Celtics issue lol. Tsai played his hand interestingly well...to mask his PR nightmare about Kyrie's views by having Marks look for Ime Udoka.

Interesting, Jaylen reposted Woj's Instagram post about the Nets hiring with no commentary. Seems like there's still support in the locker room for him and as of media day, players were still really in the dark about what exactly happened.

This could be bad for the team. I get that the C's want off of his contract, but this all feels like a hot mess and bad decision making all around.

Funnily enough, there's a popular rumor going around that Brown and Ime were actually not on good terms and Brown was the one who approached leadership about this issue with the mistress leading to Ime's suspension. Additionally, the rumor goes that Brown felt he was being pushed out for KD by Ime given their past relationship, which seems probably legit knowing the history there. Thus, this post was a shot at Ime, KD, and the Nets rather than a show of support for Ime.

Not sure how much stock to put into this rumor, but there are parts of it that make sense to me.

But real talk...shouldn't we C's fans be all the more concerned about all this? Did PBS or Wyc overreacted on this and gave him that year-long suspension, only to have the Nets pick him up 6 games into the season without any compensation? The same Udoka who righted the C's ship after January 1 enroute to their first NBA Finals appearance in 12 years? Why flex that macho about that one-year suspension when someone, esp a division rival team can just pick him up a few games into the season? I think the C's owe us an explanation to the whole Ime ordeal.

On paper, the Nets look talented but if they get their players to buy into Udoka for the next 75-76 games, the C's may possibly have a big problem in the postseason if they draw Brooklyn.

It will be interesting to see Kyrie try playing defense under Udoka.
