I have no faith in Tatum or brown as a true closer, Brown doesn't have the handle, and Tatum is much too passive . Marcus still tryst to play the hero on offense, I'm over it. Yes we will lose some defense, but we gain a all nba player for 3-4 years, to try and take advantage of Al's remaining years.

Would leave you with

Lillard.   PP
Brown.    White
Tatum.     Vet min
Grant.       Theis
Al.              Vet min(mcgee)

I know it's not over, but after years of seeing Marcus playing hero ball, I am done with the experiment of Marcus as our pg. Yes he is a great defender, but always falls back I nto hero mode. We are going to need Lillards fire power against the Bucks moving forward  when they have Middleton back.

Imagine the opportunities Lillard would open up for Brown, Tatum and Big Al..AL...

Just a thought, I have a feeling wee will be hearing about something like this if we go down in game 6....

It isn't particularly realistic given the philosophy of defence and switching that both Brad and Ime have.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

We actually don't lose a lot on D because Grant is now a starter and can cover bigs and guards....

Grant is a terrible starter, in my opinion. The rebounding of that team is really bad.

Ca are gonna trade this years DPOY and next years DPOY for the right to pay an aging Lillard $50M+ a year? Not likely.

That said, I’d bet real money we do essentially nothing this summer — which isn’t ideal either.

Lillard is like getting Kemba at the end of his career. Haven't we done this already?

We could develop and play the players we have instead of going 7/8 deep all year and into the playoffs.

I don't want Lillard (not for his supermax anyway), but how is he like Kemba?

Small guard coming off an injury in his 30s who can't defend and is going to be massively overpaid.

We need to do something, can't just sit on their hands and do nothing. The east will gradually improve. We need guys who can match the length against the Bucks. Get a guy who can provide our third-scoring consistently.

It's an abdomen injury,  not a knee injury. Still a top 10 playmake/closer in the league IMO. Would need a vet min defensive center/big man off the bench...and another wing defender/3 pt specialist probably

Ideally give up smart and Theis for Lillard, but don't think Blazers would go for that. It's gonna take RW . Lillard will be 32 next season.

Um, you may want to repeat what you just said out loud.

By trading the DPOY and a 1st or 2nd Team All-Defensive Team member in Smart and Timelord, respectively, for one of the worst defensive guards in the league, we somehow don't lose a lot on D?
