Time to extrapolate to an extreme degree and randomly pick a binkie.
Champagnie's body looks like Grant Williams' and Desmond Bane's.
A lot of success with that body type recently. The small ball Rockets had a bunch of these stocky players (Tucker, Eric Gordon, and of course Harden).
It’s interesting to see how much value these “stocky player” have in the modern NBA. The current most valuable defensive archetype are the players who are typically a few inches smaller then they should be for their position, but with + length, the strength to play up a position, and the lateral quickness the coincides with their height.
You look at players like Draymond Green,PJ Tucker, Grant Williams, Jae Crowder, Smart, Holiday, Lowry, Vanvleet, they all fit this mold and are super valuable in the playoffs.
With the NBA allowing more physicality again in the game while retaining the spread out perimeter skill based offenses of the modern game I think we will see an increased value placed on this wide body “strength and length” type players.
This is where players like Trevor Keels, Liddel, or a sleeper like Darius Day could climb on draft night
