He said he was fairly interested in checking out his other options in his exit interview. Pretty toxic environment there at moment.

Carmelo Anthony is unfortunately washed.

I’d imagine the only reason he was able to sign with the Lakers in the first place was due to their horrible roster construction and cap constraints.

I think it’s rather sad how Carmelo’s career has turned out. I remember when Melo was drafted, and thinking his career would have the best elite longevity from the 03 class because of his height, natural strength and elite shooting stroke.

why would he leave LA

Because

Presumably he comes on the TP-MLE or vet min. At the moment he gets Neismith's minutes.
So Carmello gets a ring and Ime gets a scorer, with size, off the bench.

I say no, but it's not crazy.

That would only work if Nesmith actually had minutes for Melo to take.

574 to be exact. Works out to about 11 MPG over 52 regular season games.

Yeah, put him on Detroit and he had a totally different career.  Real coaching and being brought up in a veteran team setting would have done wonders.  It’s kind of like Tatum now.  He’s going to reach his ceiling because he’s in and organization that has taught him to be a complete player.
