if we could get this done without the Memphis pick I think it's an absolute no-brainer this is the type of trade that could push us to the finals and perhaps even a championship.

Voted no because it’s reactionary and Rose is injury prone

Drummond adds nothing to this team if we're talking about trying to beat the likes of MIL/PHI/TOR, etc., and Rose is even more injury prone than Hayward.

I wish we as fans had a way to know if Hayward is damaged goods.
It will put closure on three years of empty hopes

Voted yes. But instead of Rose, I’d take on a knock down shooter instead. I don’t know who the Pistons have that fits the bill.

I would rather have Drummond’s bird rights than Hayward’s too, considering both might be FA in the next offseason.

Yes, but not for the Memphis pick, give them Semi instead (assuming salaries still match).

No interest. Too high a price for too mediocre a starting a center. Drummond is not worth Hayward. Nevermind Hayward plus the Memphis pick.

I'd rather keep Hayward and dangle Smart out there in an effort to find a starting center. Perhaps for Myles Turner.

I think Snell is a knock down shooter and salaries work but who’s going to pass him the ball?

Even without Hayward, we have a lot of ball handlers on this team: Kemba, Jaylen, Jayson, Marcus, Wanamaker, and even a semi black hole in Kanter. Imo, it’d do the team some good to have a guy whose best utility is actually standing out there in the corner waiting for a pass. At least, much better than Jaylen having to be the one standing out there (which happens more often than it should, actually)

I think both Jays should send you a big present for calling them ballhandlers

For starters, I don't see why Detroit would want Hayward.  If he stays healthy and plays well, he elects for FA.  If he continues along at his current pretty good, with some durability concerns, he opts in and you over pay him next season.

I would be fine with this trade for the Celtics though.  I think it would make the Celtics better this year and likely no different after that as I doubt we resign Hayward and as I said above, we may not even want him back at $34M.  We role the dice with Rose for two seasons and get what we can out of him in exchange for a pick that isn't that great anymore.

I said it in a different thread, but I don't see any way Ainge ever makes a trade for Drummond with Kanter still on the team. Kanter is an excellent low post threat and rebounder and he doesn't even start. He also makes less than 20% of what Drummond makes and is likely to be much much more affordable next offseason (either 120% of what he makes now or MLE).

I understand Drummond is a little better than Kanter, but I don't think he adds enough to our current scheme to be a real difference maker - especially at the expense of our most versatile player in Hayward.

Rose might be interesting off the bench, but none of the guys above would really need to be involved in such a trade.
