So, how much will OKC be able to buyout Chris Paul? I doubt he stays in OKC.

He's due $124 million over 3 years, how do you buy that out?

Steph - Klay
Lillard - McCollum
Doncic - Porzingis
Kemba - Hayward
Zion - Jrue
Simmons - Embiid
Giannis - Middleton
Conley - Gobert
Oladipo - Brogdon
Butler - Bam?
Towns - Wiggins

Lot of great duos out there now.
Butler - Bam?  Towns and Wiggins?  You're really stretching "great duo" beyond credibility.

Yeah might as well throw in Blake and D Rose if you're going that far.

plus what is the benefit of buying out Chris paul? There's none. It would be a monumental cost for absolutely no benefit to buy out Chris paul

You just surround him with young players and tank

They'll be able to trade Chris Paul.

He is still a very good player.

So the 2024 pick is protected 1-4. What happens if Houston ends up keeping that pick? Does it convert to a 2025 1st rounder? If it does, what happens to the 2025 pick swap? Does that disappear or get converted to a pick swap in another year? And what happens to the 2025 pick swap if Houston is in the bottom 20? Could it be that OKC never sees either Houston pick? If so that pick haul isn't as good as it appears.

OKC are a pretty good team as things stand

G: Chris Paul, Dennis Schroeder
G: SGA, Terrence Ferguson
F: Roberson
F: Gallinari
C: Steven Adams, Nerlens Noel

That looks a mid-40s type win team to me.

Pity they had to trade Jerami Grant to save money.

What's the point of trying a failed experiment twice? Westbrook and harden  couldn't coexist in okc. This is a desperation move by the rockets

Once the losses pile up they might move Westbrook again by the trade deadline for anything they can get

Not sure if there's a big market for him left.

Old, owed too much money. Maybe the Lakers? But the Lakers are out of assets to give.

They won't have to pay Russell Westbrook's final year at $47 million (assuming he takes his Player Option). I think for OKC, it's the return they are looking for. Anything else that comes along the way will be cherry.

I'd probably go Blake - Drummond

How about...
Gordon - Vucevic
Fox - Barnes
Barrett - Randle

You got to throw in the lesser teams that use against your little brother.

But the original point remains, today's NBA is deep in the 2 man game.

Paul probably would take $90M.  OKC might offer him close to that
