A Westbrook deal made a lot more sense for Miami.  Houston looks desperate to try anything.  Westbrook is a horrible choice to be Harden's backcourt mate.  Even someone such as Avery Bradley or Patrick Beverly might actually make the team function better than Westbrook with Harden.

Besides the picks and pick swaps, OKC got off the last year of Westbrook's contract.  Now who do they flip CP3 to?

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
So, how much will OKC be able to buyout Chris Paul? I doubt he stays in OKC.

Wow.  A trade idea that I came up with in one the multiple Westbrook threads actually went through. Lol

I Believe Westbrook was until now the active player to play the most years on one team.

Haha Morey has lost his mind.

CP3 and Harden don't like eachother or playing with eachother.  Giving away the draft picks will hurt Houston's future, but I think this improves their current push.

What is OKC going to do with all of these picks? They must have been watching Danny these past few years and been like, "Duh-Am - I want some of that." Don't get me wrong, I mean, I respect Presti for going for the pick (and pick swap) parade - I had no idea Westbrook would be that valuable.

Here is the full deal for those wondering. Per woj:

The Oklahoma City Thunder have agreed to trade Russell Westbrook to the Houston Rockets for Chris Paul, first-round picks in 2024 and 2026, pick swaps in 2021 and 2025, league sources tell ESPN.

Edit: Rondofan beat me to it while I was babbling (and with more details). TP

Wow.  OKC basically has taken our asset accumulation strategy to the next level.  Get used to hearing "OKC is on the clock" during draft night.

As for HOU, I agree with those skeptical of the fit.  How do they make it work?  Let Harden play quarters 1 and 3 and Russ plays quarters 2 and 4?  Maybe they find a way to conjoin them, making them into one freak ball dominant monster?  Have them mind meld in some Pacific Rim style jaeger?  I don't know if Russ will let Capella grab any rebounds.

Butler - Bam?  Towns and Wiggins?  You're really stretching "great duo" beyond credibility.
