Seinfeld is obviously No. 1

But my personal fave was Dobie Gillis, which of course most of you have ever seen.

I never thought Cosby was all that funny. Decent sitcom, but not at the top.

I do remember Dobie Gilis -- Bob Denver's (Gilligan) first TV foray as the inimitable Maynard G. Crebbs.   I wouldn't put it in my top 10 (or top 50 probably), but I'd put it on par with Gidget and The Patty Duke Show (both of which I liked).

  • The good ole days.
what are people's top 5 comedies?

mine (in no order)

-fresh prince of bel air
-cosby show
-seinfeld
-roseanne
-big bang theory

*leave it to beaver is a close behind

Man, I know you really like it, and you're entitled to your opinion, but The Big Bang Theory? If you're talking about today, then I don't really care either way, but there's a lot of past comedies that you've got to give some respect to over The Big Bang Theory.

I would say, if a current show is going to be included on this list, it has to be either the Simpsons or the Office.

The Big Bang Theory has got to be the TOP 5 LAMEST shows of all time.

There is no science. There is no humor. You learn nothing. There is not even the obligatory eye candy to distract you as your IQ plummets. In fact, there is no banging going on at all in the Big Bang. Any way you look at it, it's flat out false advertisement.

Yoda: Non-existent is the force with this show.

we obviously have different senses of humor.  doesnt mean one of us is right and the other is wrong.  im sure i would disagree with some of ur list

I'm with Dark_Lord on this one.

I love Big Bang Theory.  The scene where Penny gave Sheldon the Leonard Nemoy napkin was absolutey hilarious.  That show is very Sheldon-dependent though... he carries it.  Pretty much any time he talks, I am highly amused.

Oh... and to say that Penny is not eye candy?  I am borderline insulted.

Yeah, eye candy is one thing that show definitely has.

1. The Amos and Andy Show
2. The Honeymooners
3. Archie Bunker
4. Steinfeld
5. Doesn't exist. Also, considering I haven't watched anything but Steinfeld, sports, or a movie for over twenty years.

Sheldon learning to drive was great. The DMV scene in particular.

Not in my top five but a show that I think is underrated is King of the Hill.

1. Arrested Development

2-4. No particular order - Always Sunny in Philadelphia, MASH, Cheers, Seinfeld

Concords, The Office, and 30 Rock are definitely growing on me and could potentially bump one of the older shows out of my memory banks.  Arrested Development will always be #1.  Smartest comedy of all time right there.

  • And the Truth shall set you free
1) Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (Absolutely genius)

2) The Simpsons (Very hard not to put it first but the last 5 or so seasons have been nowhere as good as there first 10-15 season.  The fact they have so many good seasons could be reason enough to put them first, but for purposes of this list, Fresh Prince wone out.)

3) Home Improvement (I am shocked that no one has put this on their list yet.  Tim Allen was hilarious on this show.)

4) Seinfeld (random seinfeld moments in real life are priceless)

5)Saved by the Bell (Laugh if you must, but the show was very clever and funny)
