Why are folks constantly trying to talk up how good Kuzma is?
Because he's a scorer on the Lakers and the Lakers really need him to be promising as he's their one growth piece or trade piece. Similar to how much hype Rondo or Dwight get.

FWIW plenty of people aren't high on Kuzma and are trumpeting the opposite.

He played there earlier this year and put up 41.

I'm guessing he's really banged up and the Lakers are just at the point with their lead on the number 1 seed they're going to rest him and LBJ if they're dinged at all. (especially on b2bs)

The announcers last night kept hyping him up even when he had bad play after bad play. They also said they hardly ever  remember LeBron turning the ball over and a few minutes later he turned the ball over like 4 times in a row and they didn't make any mention of it.  Keven McHale is one of the few who calls the game as he sees it.

I cant believe I found myself cheering for the Knicks as they beat the Rockets.

This is why I'm excited for these playoffs. There's NO clear cut favorite like Golden State was over the past few years. Clippers, Lakers and Bucks will be the heavily favored of the playoff teams, but they've got some flaws too. I'd say 6-7 teams have a legitimate chance to win it all.

I wonder if Bobby Portis would make a good Daniel Theis type center for somebody. Better outside shooter than Theis. Active defender and rebounder.

Unfortunately, he shoots too much. If he could cut back his shots a bit, he could be a fine role playing center in this new-NBA.

Bobby Portis has none of the intangibles Daniel Theis has. He is always a step slow in defensive rotations and he doesn't keep the ball moving on offense.

The reasons why Daniel Theis has been so good for our team this year are the reasons why Bobby Portis can't play for a good team.

He's good at connecting on punches, though.

There was gamesmanship there too. They likely will face the Pelicans in the first round. They shouldn't let the Pelicans get comfortable, learn matchups, figure out offenses, etc. Resting a starter is the easiest way to do that.

I think the Pelicans pose a real threat to LA in the first round. I'd still give LA a 95% to win, but the longer the Pelicans can extend the series, the better their chances.

There's a decent chance the next (and final) regular season game between the Raps-Celtics will determine the #2 seed. We're 1.5 games back (1 back in the loss column), so tiebreakers could also be crucial

Anybody else think the Sixers are on Standings watch.

I think they feel confident of facing the Cs in Round one hence they are making an effort to make sure they face us then the Raptors in Round 2 thereby bypassing the Bucks till the ECF.
