I mean Towns can give us 30/20/5/3 and hit 3s but may not cost us Tatum. Towns is also already under contract. Neither AD or Towns are making their teams better anyway.

Towns is headed down the same road as KG.

Rozier, Brown, Williams, 2 #1 picks for Towns and Saric.

Kyrie
Tatum
Hayward
Horford
Towns

Saric off the bench.

Towns has amazing box scores

Sadly other teammates hate playing with him (butler). And he plays horrific defense after being mentored by KG and Thibs. Those are some red flags I can't look past

Not sure how true this is. One teammate has disliked him - Butler. And Butler has been disliked by guys in Chicago, other guys in Minny, and I have no doubt some guys in Philly. KAT isn't the issue.

He also isn't as bad defensively as he cops it for. I think if he played on a competitive team with a good coach (i.e. here) he would pick up his defence a lot.

He's a 25/12 big-man at 23 years old, who shoots 40% from 3 and gets nearly 2BPG. Lots to work with
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Given his age, durability and new contract extension he would absolutely cost you Tatum. Plus everything else. Also he isn't gonna be traded.

And never gets injured. But he’s value is at the same level as ad

Title could be true, but KAT is unavailable and a lower tier player compared to AD.

He should cost more given he is under contract 5 years. I would explore it to see if I was wrong though.

As others have said, it would cost more.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Towns would cost more simply from the fact that he hasn't asked for a trade (and is under a long term contract). There's basically no package we could put together that would convince the Wolves to trade KAT
I'm bitter.

I really like KAT, like really really like him.

But he just signed long term and I think a deal, at this point in time would be hard to make salaries match. Unless of course Hayward was included....but I cannot see in any way that Minny would accept that.

No way the Wolves trade him just yet (especially for this package). Having said that, I'd love us to trade for KAT. Wouldn't hesitate to part ways with Tatum + other assets for him.

We have three first round picks this year.

How about we draft some bigs?

It's definitely their biggest area of need.  If Al Horford leaves in free agency this team will struggle to stay .500.

However, the Celtics history of drafting big men is pretty depressing.  It's almost like they have no ability to evaluate draft eligible big men whatsoever.

This. The Wolves don't want to trade Towns.
