Smart shoots the Mavs back into the game, then makes a steal in the 4th, and his fan club will gush about how clutch he is.

Maybe if the peanut gallery didn't constantly harp on every little bad thing he does and showed a little perspective by actually being objective, then his "fan club" wouldn't have to so vehemently defend his status as a legit contributor to this team...

"Every little bad thing"? It's really only 1 thing and he keeps doing it at a historically poor level.

After the third brick ,  id bench Smart

Same with Brickzer

just awful

before we hit playoffs i want a team where every single giy can contribute in some way and yes i want a solid scoring bench. is that too much to ask? i want a a team that keeps scoring when starters are on bench. keeps applying pressure and makes other teams crack.
LET'S GO CELTICS!

I don't get it. How can Jaylen be so competent from 3, yet so below average at the ft line?

It’s like Iggy, it’s in his head... gives me hope he’ll improve since he’s clearly becoming a good shooter

I will give a tommy point to anyone who can convince me why Abdel Nader deserves to be on this roster more than say Gerald Green.
I got nothing. Would have much preferred Gerald for that roster spot.

Tommy point for answering.

Holy **** Nader sucks.

The best I got is because Spurs model.

International diversity.  Nader = from Egypt.  Getting all those international players has kept the Spurs running like a well-oiled machine.

Thus, Nader > Green.  Although not really.

Yes. As strange as it sounds...

Bring back Gerald Green!

Every little bad thing???? He's 1 for 7, 0 for 5, with 3 turnovers. He's the Mavs 1st half mvp.

Irving wants 50 wow.

Might need 60 to win this one with the brick squad off the bench

Why won't Irving let other guyz shoot? He's gonna score all the points?

Smart's been tough from three...really tough.

when a guy is hot and has not missed yet you let him keep shooting!

I’d be fine with him taking the rest of the shots this game...

LOL ME TOO!

Smart needs to work the ball into Theis and set Semi up for 3 's .......the dummy is shootin too much, they are inviting a sucky shooter to screw up.

  • GOT IT!!!
I watched Nader plenty in college. I still don't know how he made a NBA roster much less this one. That's all I'll say about that.

CBS has been doing these wonky lineups since he got to Boston. He's coaching for the season not tonight, I understand it. Either the bench will improve or it will cost them come playoff time.

This argument has never made sense to me. In the playoffs we're only going to go like 9 deep with Kyrie, Brown, Morris, Tatum, Horford, Smart, Baynes, Rozier, and maybe Semi more defense. Why should we suffer all year long with full bench lineups out there when you won't see that at all in the playoffs? I just don't think that argument makes any sense.

Because players get hurt and other circumstances. The C's ultimately beat Washington last season because they had a bench and the Wizards didn't. I don't have a big problem with CBS tinkering during the season as much as I do with players not making WIDE open shots. This league is filled with the best basketball players in the world. If you've made it this far you should be able to do that at worst.

That doesn't excuse using full bench lineups to the extent that Brad has, though. You can still focus on getting guys good experience and up to speed without sending out totally defunct lineups like  Brad has this season.

I just don't see any reason why Brad can't manage to keep two of our starting five on the floor at all times. All that does is force guys like Smart and Rozier to try and play above their heads, which clearly hasn't worked at all so far.
