of course they do, its not like the calendar just goes away...

But if you are an American, enjoy the (sort of) birthday of the US (I argue it should really be October 19th (Yorktown) or April 9 (1784 England Ratifies Peace of Paris), or June 21 (1788) Constitution ratified, giving America a government.  (sorry to be a history dork)

But whatever, July 4th - some people signed the DOI and the Revolution totally changes course and now we blow things up

I'm still proud of where I live, I'd have it no other way.  So happy 4th everyone, enjoy the day. (that rhyme was not on purpose) Here's an obligatory American like picture:

Happy 4th everyone.  I'll be celebrating it in Barcelona this year.

I have my moments of being incredibly disappointed with the US, but that's only because I have such great expectations for my country.  And I've been much happier since Barack got elected.  I mean, wow, what a development in the course of our history.  It's reason to feel immense pride.  I feel so fortunate, blessed, and happy to have all the privilege and advantage that comes from being from the US.

And I'm really happy to honor my forefathers accomplishments.  What they did and overcame in establishing this country was truly incredible.

Happy 4th everyone.  Party hardy like you just don't care.
