of course they do, its not like the calendar just goes away...
But if you are an American, enjoy the (sort of) birthday of the US (I argue it should really be October 19th (Yorktown) or April 9 (1784 England Ratifies Peace of Paris), or June 21 (1788) Constitution ratified, giving America a government. (sorry to be a history dork)
But whatever, July 4th - some people signed the DOI and the Revolution totally changes course and now we blow things up
