The 2007-08 Celtics will always be my favorite team of all time. But looking at both rosters on paper, I think this years team would take them to the brink, if not beat them in a 7 game series. Back in 08, that team had a ton of guts and played hard, but the current Celtics have a clear advantage in terms of coaching and depth. Remember that championship Celtics team was taken to 7 games by two very inferior teams in the Hawks and Cavaliers who don't hold a candle to the 18-19 Celtics team talent wise.

Obviously we don't know just how good this team can be at full strength, but it's hard to imagine they're going to be the same or worse with 2 all stars coming back into the lineup and the 2nd best coach in the NBA.

Pierce would be the x-factor in that series. Horford could contain KG, and Jaylen and Marcus would stick it to Ray, but Paul was close to unguardable that year. Would be a tall order for Tatum/Hayward..

What do y'all think?

It's hard to make this comparison because the 2007-2008 Celtics won a championship and the 2018-19 Celtics haven't even played a preseason game yet.

So my brain just can't imagine the 2007-08 Celtics with a healthy KG losing to an unproven team that hasn't played yet. I guess I'm just not very imaginative.
