Quote
Thomas will be out 6-8 weeks after he underwent surgery Wednesday to repair a rupture of the radial collateral ligament of his left thumb.
Thomas will miss all of training camp and potentially the first few weeks of the regular season. He was expected to compete with Ish Smith for the starting job at point guard, but it seems like Smith will win by default. Until Thomas returns, Justin Robinson may handle backup point guard duties.

Sucks to see him continually suffering setbacks.

That's too bad.

Man I feel bad for IT.  He just can't get his body right nor have any type of luck.  When you are that small and play with that amount of reckless abandon it seems the older you get the easier it is to get injured.  It's just a shame, because IT will always be one of my favorite Celtics of all time.  His time here was some of the most fun I had watching basketball in the last 25 years.  Wishing you a speedy recovery IT!

It's really too bad. Injuries lead to other injuries and sometimes you just can't get healthy and then time just keeps passing. I will always love IT for what he gave to The Celtics.

From a pickup game. People were unhappy with our Celtics playing for their country in a meaningless international tournament, well getting injured in a pickup game is a new level of meaninglessness I suppose. Well, you can't wrap players in cotton wool and stop them doing anything that would risk injury till the start of the season. I feel for IT but he'll be back, thankfully it's not related to his hip.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

Still was a good trade at the time.

Except the part where we lose the Brooklyn pick that became Collin Sexton.
