7. Actually playing baseball - not just watching
Last one is a great one. I was at my daughter's kindergarten field day yesterday out on the field where I played my last game of organized baseball when I was 18 or 19. It got me super sentimental. I was having very specific memories involving very specific plays and teammates, and thinking of what we're all doing now. One very oddball memory involved a guy who died a few years back.
I absolutely loved playing baseball for real.
On a side note, the field is the Cape Cod Baseball League home for the Chatham A's (I'm still calling them the A's even though MLB made them change their name to something else - they chose "Anglers"))...anyhow, the team dumped a couple hundred grand into renovating the field, and it is absolutely gorgeous. If you're in the area in the summer, take in Cape League game. It's a little slice of baseball heaven.
