we actually had a beer tasting contest here over the weekend - Tuckerman's had 2 different brews that turned out to be favorites of the crowd... Shipyard's Pumpkinhead also did quite well

My all time favorite has to be Paulaner Salvator Doppelbock- When people come over my house and try this one, they completely go into beer heaven/nirvanah- Trust me on this one. This beer is from Germany and lagered for 41 weeks. Full, Hearty and Smooth like Silk, Very Rich, Smokey and Sweet..I believe this company has been doing beer for 400 years

To learn more about there beer history, wiki is a good source
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paulaner

Also, the new Celebator Dopplebock is also pretty intense-

They are actually at BevMo if you have one near you, if not, thank the Beer Gods for online shopping!

better than any of the cheap beers, not as good as a sam adams, IMO.

its not bad, but its not good either.

My Dad is a building engineer at a German Embassy down here and he gets all those kinds of euro beers that he wants.  He gets those "real" budweisers all the time, and he gets cases of something similar to the 2nd pic that you got with the big bottle, hes got a big row of those giant glasses going accross his bar.  Its not the exact same beer though, its called "Erdinger."

.....im more of a simple man though.  Depending on my mood and what the bar im at is serving, I love MGD, Rolling Rock, Yuengling, and Corona.

Sam Light is my favorite all-time beer with Magic Hat's Single Chair Ale (helps that it's named for my favorite mountain) and the #9 a close second and third.
