And this team doesn't need a backup point guard, right?

Yea, our backup pg was so essential in the year we won the championship huh...

So I guess they didn't acquire Sam Cassell and I guess he did not play a key role in several games in the playoffs?

Look, I'm as frustrated about losing two in a row as the next man, but we'll get through this. I could type away all night and ping on the mistakes that happened, but it won't get us the last two games back.

I'll take 23-7. Still a better record than CLE or ORL.

The folks here that want to point out what went wrong - let em', that's what the blog is for.

But as for me, I really believe we'll be hoisting Banner 18 in June at the expense of the Lakers.

Tue, Feb 19, 2008 @ Denver Nuggets L 118 - 124               41 - 10 L 1
Wed, Feb 20, 2008 @ Golden State Warriors L 117 - 119         41 - 11 L 2
Fri, Feb 22, 2008 @ Phoenix Suns L 77 - 85    41 - 12 L 3

In 2008 the Celtics lost three straight games... one of those games was and away game against the Warriors. It was a close game and they lost it one night after they had lost another game. Their next game was two days later in Phoenix... Anybody notice any similarities? This team will be fine. Even championship teams lose games... believe it or not they also lose back to back games. Don't call me crazy but sometimes they even lose back to back to back. The Celtics will be fine. The sky is not falling. We're fine.

Pierce is hurt...KG gimpy....Q hurt and now rondo....great...just great...going to get run out of phoenix
You could mention Baby as well. Didn't look too good. Or have we had updates?

I just might get to see Billy play Wednesday. Unfortunately, if Rondo is hurt, it might be at pg.

If Rondo is hurt, what are the chances Tyron Lue becomes the starting point guard? There is no one else on the team that can play that position right now.

So I think it is safe to say the Pierce is definitely the best and most important player on this team. I remember having a little debate about it earlier in the season and it was mixed with Pierce, KG, and Rondo. There is absolutely no way we lose these games if Pierce were playing. Even if KG and Rondo were both out, he would have willed the team to victories.

On a side note don't  understand why some people get so stat happy about Rondo too. Without looking it up it seems to me that the more Rondo scores the worse we do.

I'd think we'd lose with Pierce healthy and no Rondo.

Yeh, me too. Rondo does a lot, even with everyone healthy. It's just that normally it doesn't all show up on the stat sheet. He might draw defenders and 2 passes later it reaches the person that got free by his movement. No stats for that.

Anyway, right now his stats are showing because he's taking Pierce's job. He's not as good at it as Pierce is, but he [dang] well shows he can be our CP3 if he wants to.

He's not taking Pierce's job. Pierce plays SF not PG. Rondo is playing his position, PG. This whole "Rondo needs to score more since Pierce is out" is absolutely ridiculous. He doesn't need to score more. He needs to run the team better, he needs to lead, he needs to be smart, he needs to make good decisions. The whole team needs to do things like this, no one just takes it all on by themselves. But since Rondo is completely dominating the ball, I think it is on him more than anyone else. Don't really understand your CP3 comment. You mean he can produce awesome stats in losses?

The bench, plain and simple, sucked tonight. And they weren't all that better last night either.

I hated the turnovers tonight, though, turnovers are not this team's nemesis this year like it has been in past years. Rondo had about three really bad ones but when a guy has 15 assists and plays 46 minutes and had the ball in his hands almost constantly, I can forgive him 2-3 stupid turnovers. What I can't forgive is Tony's 5 TO's, Perk's 4 TO's and Baby's 4 TO's. Just God awful.

KG and Rondo played hurt tonight. If I'm concerned about anything after these last two games it's that the health of this team is slowly getting worse. Typical log season stuff. I don't think anyone is getting over played. I just think regular injuries and wear and tear is catching up with this team right now.

Second year in a row where a slump after Christmas wouldn't surprise me in the least.

On the good side, Rondo was 6 for 11 from outside tonight and 7 for 9 from the line. Over the last 10 games Rondo is shooting over 70% from the line.
