Dumb ass shouldn't have signed that contract.

No sympathy for him. He chose his bed. Lie in it.

Can’t blame him, but this is entirely self-inflicted. You resign with a sorry franchise while your other star is severely injured (& might never come back the same), you expect losing.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Instead of hating on Beal why don’t we try to get Tatum talk him into requesting a trade to the Cs?

He'll be traded this offseason I imagine, just delayed the inevitable for some extra cash.

So why did he sign an extension with the Wiz, duh!

Because he still has the power to force a trade. He gets his money, and then demands a trade.

Welcome to the new NBA.

I wouldn't mind acquiring Beal this summer, but it would be difficult to find a trade that made sense for both teams, especially if Hayward opts out.  I don't think something like Smart, Theis, Langford, salary filler, and draft picks is a good enough package (even with Memphis pick included as its value isn't all that good at the moment) and I wouldn't want to give up Walker, Brown, or Tatum in the trade.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

None of the contenders can beat that package. Also we can add one or two unprotected in the future .. maybe 5 picks will be enough (we have 3 this summer)
