On a more serious note, it must have sucked for them last year, playing afraid to make a mistake or risk getting yelled at. If I recall Jaylen got yelled at a lot, by Kyrie and Mook.

Yeah, Jaylen strikes me as a guy that responds better to love as opposed to tough love.  That said, some players need a kick in the butt.

Who the hell cares? Kryknee was a toxic saboteur last season, he deserves all the swipes his former teammates can give him.

That was directed at Marcus Morris. Brown Likes all of Kyrie’s posts on IG. He doesn’t even follow Morris...

and we all remember this: https://youtu.be/kETjFHQEbjw

Yeah, they had a clip of Kemba saying the same type of stuff to Tatum. Maybe it was the Philly game. Encouraging him. Just keep going. Keep attacking. Don't get down on yourself for missing shots. Keep going. We trust you.

Good leadership.

How about if he just meant what he said.  He prefers being encouraged to being scolded when error is made.

The only player that we know for sure he was talking about was Kemba and he was complimentary.  That’s enough for me.

Agreed.  It's also probably helpful when your coach doesn't pathologically cooler you.  I don't remember the last time Brown played 38 minutes in a game prior to tonight.

So nice to have this humble all-star here.  KI is so condescending, AND he doesn't play defense like Kemba.  Having him instead of KI unlocks the productivity of multiple other players.  Great fit.

Kyrie is the perfect teammate,   why throw shade on a brother?

they were both vying for that 'intellectual jock' space.

watching Kyries first two games, its evident he is playing much differently right now for the Nets than he did in the Milwaukee series. Which begs the question of whether he just quit on the team and wasn't giving any effort as he already had 1 foot out the door.

Granted, this is the honeymoon period and we will see what happens when the team starts to have struggles.

Wel, there’s a big difference.between the first two games of the regular season and playing the bucks in the playoffs.  What last years playoffs showed is that kyrie can’t do it by himself.  What we also may be seeing is much better chemistry on his current team.  Case in point, kemba also struggling in THIS situation a little.

Anyway, no, I wouldn’t say quit.  Fans go to the effort and passion card much too often.

As I alluded to in my post, good leadership isn’t just being encouraging.  Sometimes it does mean kicking guys in the butt.  And I a serous way.

So suggesting that kyrie was tough on Jaylen doesn’t move the needle for me.  That was his style and this is Kembas.  Either can work and not work at times.

Kyrie was mentally checked out throughout most of the Milwaukee series. Those last two games were absolutely atrocious.  Not only did he take a bunch of ill advised shots, but he also abandoned the entire defensive game plan against Giannis.  If I remember correctly, there were a handful of positions where he decided to guard Giannis, even going as far as to signal his teammates to let him handle the match-up on his own.
