What the heck happened with Brown not playing?

That is the mystery of the game.  17 min is not a good way to take advantage of Brown, he needs more minutes.

Are they trying to keep him out of a trade?

Are NBA teams just all a bunch of dummies?  They can't look up the other box scores?
I hope we are trying to keep him out of the trade for Davis, but what about the rest of the last 4 months of Browns great play, does that just get forgotten about?  I mean Brad forgets about it evidently...

What the heck happened with Brown not playing?

It could be a number reasons.

But one thing's for sure, Celts have too many players of the same kind.

That will not happen again next season when the Celts trade for AD.

unlikely

better get used to this lineup, because it is going to look like this for years to come

It's a done deal.

Ainge didn't stand pat at the trade deadline for no reason.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
When Kyrie doesn't play I'm more confident in our chances against 80% of the league.

It's sad.

I think in this case they took him out of his second half stint early with the intention of his coming back into close, but then Brad changed his mind on that. Could be Cleveland with personnel that Bard thought other players matched up better with, or maybe he just liked the way they were playing and stuck with Morris longer than  intended. If its the second then ya, we won. But Morris has almost nothing to do with us winning. It continues to puzzle me that both Morris and Rozier get more minutes and shots than Brown. That should never happen, barring a hot shooting game from one of them. Then theres the completely ice the hot guy, in this case Tatum. He was like 9/14 for 21 at the half. 0/3 for 0 in the second. Why only three shots? Ya, we won, but only because Cleveland is bad and Love was awful.

Marcus Morris and Terry Rozier, a combined 9-28.

Hope next year we can replace them with role players who understand they are role players.

It's just a case of Brad prefers Hayward over Brown.

Even when Jaylen was a rookie, Brad didn't play him a lot even when Jaylen was the #3 pick.

If anything with Kyrie out, there are a WHOLE lot more guard minutes to go around.
It makes zero sense.

Smart, Rozier, and Hayward, that's 3 guards right there.

The 4th guard usually ends up getting the fewest minutes.

Lol, Hayward doesn't play guard...I wouldn't mind if he did, but he doesn't.

Rozier will most likely be gone.

But the Celts could retain Morris as the Celts would lose Tatum or Brown in the AD trade.

Hayward is not a guard defensively. he handle the ball, but he doesn't play guard.

Yeah Tatum had a really favorable matchup and why we weren't exploiting that in 2nd half after he destroyed them in the 1st, I have no idea.  I think as soon as something works really well on offense brad wants to do something else.

I didn't say it was a good strategy. I just don't understand why Brown doesn't play more.

Probably. I dont mind Morris on the team to be honest. Its just he needs to play and shoot way less, he should be a role player. Not taking 13-15 shots.
