Are LAC the most talented team in the league now?

Top to bottom. Combo of elite talent & depth.

Philly overplayed their hand here. I bet they could have gotten a similar package in July, and then had the picks and expiring salaries to be involved in the Lillard or Holiday discussions without trying to force through an awkward 3 or 4-way trade that didn’t work.

They can try to do something the weeks before the deadline now, but my guess is they don’t get anything done because Morey instead wants to hold onto his cap space and negotiates too hard, yet again, wasting another Embiid season.
I suppose this is true, but is it really another wasted season compared to standing pat and keeping Harden on the roster? I'm not so sure.

No, I meant that if they hadn’t played so much hardball throughout the summer and made a deal like this then, they’d have been in a position to make a trade for Holiday in September.  They’re better off for having made a trade, but worse off because of the timing of it.

Is it 2016 again?

edit: Nic Batum was included in the trade. It might very well be 2016 again.

Man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much—the wheel, New York, wars and so on—whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time.

But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man—for precisely the same reasons.

This will be the third team that Westbrook and Harden have played on together.  I wonder how often that's happened for two HOFers.

Only if Doc Brown brings you back to the mid-2010s.

Talent, perhaps.  Durability, drive, fit, etc. not as much.

Hilarious that Woj was so desperate to break the news ahead of Shams that he broke it before knowing all the details  :police:

Per Shams:

Draft compensation that the Clippers are sending Philadelphia in James Harden trade, per sources:

- 2026 LAC first-round pick via OKC
- 2028 LAC first-round pick
- Two second round picks
- One pick swap

Maybe Philly is ready to start The Process, Part 2.  Sell Embiid.

Kawhi will get injured again, George probably will too, Westbrick is mostly empty calories, and Harden will be disgruntled soon. Not worried about the Clippers.

I'm glad this trash heap is back out west.  To me this is an addition by subtraction.  Maxey is a beast and deserves to be a featured player.  He worries me then harden did.

It will be interesting to see how Maxey does in that role. He is good but Is he ready for a prime time role.
