I think Grant will help Dallas a lot. Great acquisition by them. Regarding the other guys all good players, but Porzingis, as we're seeing is terrific.

I guess Wyc said in an interview this week that he sat through that 2nd half of Game 7 vs Miami and came to the conclusion that something needed to change - then 2 days later met with Brad and Mazzulla and told them the same thing.  So maybe the moves this offseason weren't all Brad's doing.

I'm sure he did say something to that effect to Brad and Joe, but I'd also never take an owner's words at face value when he's out in the press and saying anything that makes himself look favorable. You especially see it with new owners (Matt Ishbia) who feel the need to portray themselves as dealmakers or change-makers to the fans.

Maybe making moves wasn't Brad's idea, but I'm sure the moves he made were. Some GMs might hear that they have to make changes and make some tweaks around the edges or some lateral moves, but Brad swung for the fences. That's the part about the moves he made that impressed me the most: he didn't just make moves to make moves, he upgraded our talent significantly.
I'm bitter.

Checking in:

Smart: 12.5 points, 5.0 assists, .504 eFG%
Williams: 11.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, .642 eFG%
Brogdon: 17.3 points, 5.5 assists, .471 eFG%
Timelord:  Out for Season - 6 games played.  6.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, .654 eFG%
Gallinari: 8.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, .596 eFG%
Muscala: 3.0 points, 2.2 rebounds, .438 eFG%

Interestingly, Portland, Memphis and Washington are 3 of the 4 worst teams in the league.  Only Grant Williams is playing well on a good team.

Didn't realize Grant had cooled off so much. He was being super-hyped up by the Mavs and other NBA fans in general. Celtics were looking bad for not re-signing him. He's had a couple of 10 point games recently, but he was 0, 2, and 6 in his previous 3. And his last game he put up 10 points on 13 shots

I'm sure he'll settle in to his role again - probably right around the averages Roy posted, but maybe not 50% from 3.

Somewhat surprised to see Grant's numbers so flat compared to last year, thought he was going to get a bigger opportunity in Dallas.

At the same time, not that surprised, because I thought Dallas was expecting more out of Grant than he could realistically deliver.

It's the rebounding that's really surprises me though.  Worst rebounding rate of his career.

He's killing it from 3 though.

Prior to the last game, he only got 15, 21, and 23 minutes.  Looking at his game logs, definitely seems to be a difference in minutes and productions from his first 7 games to his last 5.  Wonder if that's a blip or the new reality?
