The Celtics will pick 14th. It's what they do.
So now you can stop wasting time with the draft tracker  ;)

Yup! And it will be a combo guard who can't shoot or an overseas draft and stash

Nope, they will package the pick with horford or Richardson to add some vet on a slightly longer contract who will excite people initially but who we will be discussing in fake trades by this time next year.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

I won’t be shocked if we see a AL trade on draft night to avoid his 14 mill. Maybe to Thunder for Favors?

Ty Ty Washington now moved up to 10 on Sam Vecenie's latest mock draft, so probably out of reach for us  absent a draft day trade.

Wonder what my Aussie friends think of Dyson Daniels, the 6'6" point guard prospect playing for G League Elite. Hails from Victoria. He has really promising playmaking skills. Vecenie currently ranks him 14th in his mock draft.

Reminds me of Lonzo Ball in terms of making full court passes, but with a much better ability to break down defenses with dribble penetration.

Someone to keep an eye on for our point guard of the future!!

I’d be very surprised to see him dumped on draft night, personally.  His contract doesn’t have a guarantee date, so there’s no urgency to move him until you find an alternate way to use his salary.  He can be stretched if needed, and the difference between stretching Favors and stretching Al is $1 million per year.

The only reason for such a draft night trade is we could use the Thompson TPE to absorb Favors and create a new TPE for Al that would last until the following draft.  But that seems like a pretty minor value.

Second Round Pick
Boston - #47

- won’t be as exciting to track as prior years with only the C’s picks to be concerned with although with this team’s inconsistency, they could slide down several slots or climb a number of slots if they either become consistently bad or consistently good.

—> C’s didn’t lose in the past week yet their pick improved a slot. - Toronto passed them based on playing more games on a winning streak.  The Eastern teams at the tail end of the playoff picture seem to have gotten their collective acts together with the exception of the Knicks and Wizards.  Western conference seems to be condensing a bit around the play-in/playoff slots.  C’s entering a new range of teams close to where they’re currently picking — breaking away from the Lakers, NY and Wash and now closer to Dallas and Brooklyn

My hot take on what I think will end up happening is that the C’s pick will end up around 19-20 — I can seriously see them catching Toronto, Dallas and Charlotte before the end of the season and no one behind them catching them.

Second Round Pick
Boston - #46

well, Brad torpedoed this thread.  second year in a row without a first rounder to track.

will say the C's had the 18th pick as of this morning.  after beating Denver, the C's moved past them to the 19th pick.

Good call. Derrick White is that vet and he excited us (initially) tonight.

Now let’s see if we’re discussing him in fake trades by this time next year.
