I’m finding it hard to recall my frame of mind when the signings occurred.  I think Hayward must be atop my list. Still young and in prime and I really didn’t think he’d leave Utah.  Can’t recall how I felt with the Posey signing but I should have been ecstatic.  House was a signing too right?

PJ Brown. Knew it was a chip when he signed on.

This is mine too. He came up big against the Cavs in the ECF that year too.

I remember where I was when we got Horford, and literally jumped up and down on a street corner when the news flashed across my phone, so I’ll go with that.

Shaq was fun, mostly because he was a larger than life figure in Boston that year.  You never knew where he might pop up with some antic.  But he wasn't impactful enough on the court to be an All-time signing — if he had been, the Kendrick Perkins debate wouldn’t have raged for a decade.

It is still raging. Danny's dumbest move of all time.

Also played an important role in the Game 4 comeback win at Staples.

Sherman Douglas.

Now understand I was young, I grew up in LA and a lot of laker fans I knew were certain he was signing with the lakers and were really excited about it.

More recently I would second those who said Posey.  As pumped as I was about Ray and KG it was the Posey signing that I felt was that final piece (solid role player):that was necessary for a championship team.  It was then that the potential to win a championship got real for me.

Man, I was really excited about Jason Terry--cause of how he always hit big shots...actually ran into him a couple of days after we signed him (in Vegas at an IHOP-with his daughters BB team)....Shook his hand and said welcome to the Celtics....of course he couldn't hit the side of a barn when we had him.

David West... until it fell apart. I was convinced that he was the missing piece to keeping the KG Celtics going. David West was such a better player than I thought we would be capable of adding to that roster, great off ball shooter, tenacious defender, good rebounder, but it wasn't meant to be.

As for an FA signing that did go through it has to be Horford. Unfortunately I also thought Horford could lead to Durant so that was part of it but Horford solidified the front court after we lost KG after years of pulling my hair out watching Sullinger Olynyk and Zeller try to man the middle.

Horf also felt like it broke Boston FA stigma of no one wanting to sign here.

With David West we win 2012 NBA Title against OKC Thunder.
