“Jayson Tatum tells me that he added seven pounds of muscle over the summer. He’s already noticing a positive difference in his ability to finish through contact.“

Anyone ready for  Tatum 2.0 now with more muscles?

I'm not sure about that.  At 20 years of age, he's going to gain mass and weight almost no matter what he does.

hasn't there been countless players who had trouble gaining muscle mass? Felt like it took a decade for rondo to gain muscle... Brandon Ingram is a more recent example looks the same as 2 years ago

In a media day interview he said he’s not getting bodied as much this year lol says he’ll add mass over time to not throw off his game.

That's a good, healthy rate for him to increase his weight.  If he does that over a few summers in a row, he'll have a nice, strong physique.

He had a foot injury his freshman season at Duke which his doctor thought was a result of gaining weight too quickly.

Remember, he looked like this just 3 years ago.

Here's an article about him having gained muscle this offseason.  He's now 212-213.

So Ingram is the extreme example of all extreme examples.  And I don’t recall any issues with rondo and weight.  None.

Hated the player Kobe but post-retirement Kobe is great...This comment makes me even more excited for Tatum this year...

"Part of that confidence boost is also a result of Tatum’s offseason workouts with Kobe Bryant and Penny Hardaway. He claims that the pair of NBA legends helped to instill a mindset within him “of attacking the rim strong, trying to punish guys and dunking everything.”
A winner is someone who recognizes his God-given talents, works his tail off to develop them into skills, and uses these skills to accomplish his goals.

Push yourself again and again. Don't give an inch until the final buzzer sounds.

He was definitely stronger by the end of the season last year than at the start. He'll keep getting stronger as he gets older, even if he doesn't put on a ton of weight. Durant never filled out but he's much stronger now than he was in his first couple of seasons.

As long as he doesn't go all David Boston (dated reference) on us, its definitely a good thing.

I seem to remember hearing concerns that Durant could barely bench 135 at his pre draft combine.

Tatum has had no such problem to my knowledge.
