Forgive me.....

I thought you guys were pretty much finished, or on the way of being on your way out.

But boy.... was I wrong.

Derrick Rose: 18.5/2.5/5.9
CP3: 17/5/6.4
D12: 7.8/7.8/0.7
Melo: 16.2/6.4/1.5

When all of these players eventually retire, it'll be a sad day in basketball.

I like seeing them doing OK at advanced age.
Monkhouse maybe it will be a sad day when they retire, but new kids will arrive and there will also be happy days.

Maybe, but I grew up watching these guys play. I didn't grow up enjoying the Larry Bird era, even if I had a couple of VHS's, and video highlights.

There's far more sentimental value for me, but I believed Melo/Howard was done from the NBA.

Meh. Never liked any of these guys and openly dislike several of them so when they retire it will mean nothing to me. See you later. Don't let the door hit you on the butt on the way out.

Well I guess I stand alone then. I enjoyed watching Derrick Rose, and CP3 was one of my biggest what ifs? when the rumors circulating around Rondo + fillers/assets for CP3 was spewing out.

As for Howard, I didn't really like him that much, but during 2007-2012, he had one of the craziest years of basketball I've seen in a while.

I feel the same way, but you can't deny what Rose, CP3 and Melo are doing this season.  Especially Rose and Melo are showing they are not done yet.

To me, Chris Paul is so much more likeable as an underdog than a star on a contender.

Didn't like Chris Paul at all with LAC, but liked him with New Orleans and now with OKC.

Thought the guy might pout in OKC, make impossible trade demands, expect his contract to be bought out at full value, something.  Instead he's playing great in OKC and has a group of cast offs in the playoff hunt, only a couple of games behind the contender that traded him away.

While this is probably true with a lot of players, where I like them more as an underdog than a top dog, can't say I feel any way towards Howard, Anthony, or Rose.  If anything, still wouldn't mind seeing Howard (independent of his current team) and Anthony fail.  Rose has always been kinda of "meh" to me, really surprised by the fan support he's gotten, getting over 5m votes for the All-Star game the last 2 years, didn't realize he connected with the fans so much with his short reign on top.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Is Melo playing well?

16ppg but on a 52.2% TS% which is below average. He has been a significant negative on defense.

Seems like the definition of an empty stats guy.

Kind of off-topic, but I'm beginning to think Harden might really be a locker room cancer and a bad influence on that Rockets team. There's the iso-ball, hero-stuff he tries to do on the court (which doesn't work in the playoffs against other elite teams), and it just seems he has a bad attitude (ex. CP3 trying to talk to Harden in a playoff game and Harden shoves him because he didn't give him the ball).

I mean, look at what CP3 and Melo are doing on different teams now.

Westbrook's been great, but now Harden is choking for the Rockets. The analysts said something a few days ago, and I agree, Westbrook is currently their best player, not Harden.

And actually, now that I think about it, even Howard was with the Rockets and by all accounts, both Harden-Howard feuded often. Now Howard at times has been a headcase so not too surprising, but it just adds to the idea that maybe Harden is just not a great teammate.
