cant offer pietrus 4 mill, only 2 mill per year from Bi annual exception. source say he's skeptical to take that since theres interest from other teams.

we're over the salary cap.

Let's not overreact...

Right now the Cs reportedly have 12 guys under contract:

Rondo
Bradley
Terry
Moore
Pierce
Green
Joseph
Bass
Sullinger
Johnson
Garnett
Williams

The missing depth is at the 1 and 5. The safe play may include:

Dooling
Stiemsma
Wilcox
Kristic

With Green back in the fold, Pietrus is expendable. I'd like him back at the right price, but there are other holes to fill. Don't forget that Wilcox was coming on before they discovered the heart ailment.

What about Melo?

Yeah. Celtics hands are tied. Either he takes C's offer, or walks like an Egyptian.

I guess it was a Freudian omission... hopefully I'll come around on him.

That leaves two to three of the list - I think Kristic is out and it comes down to Dooling vs. Moore's non-guaranteed contract.

Why is Krstic out?

I don't think Williams or Joseph's contracts are guaranteed, if it's a roster space thing.

To bring in some real talent, Danny will have to be creative. He still has a couple of pieces that have some value in trades. Both Steisma and Pietrius are receiving interest. Maybe they can be packaged with a pick n a deal to bring back a scorer. U gotta think if Asik can command the salary he did, Steisma has got to have significant value to some team with assets the C's need. I don't know how it gets done but here is my list of ideal targets:

1.) Lou Williams
2.) OJ Mayo
3.) Kirk Heinrich
4.) Dorrell Wright (not a free agent, but GS has been trying to trade him)
5.) Brandon Rush
