Best Places,
Innsbruck Austria. Picture perfect city surrounded by the alps..amazing and the train ride from Zurich to Innsbruck was just as amazing.
Basle and Zurich Switzerland were beautiful as well. Some of the best food I have ever had
Warsaw, Krakow, Wroclaw are all beautiful and it is amazing to see thousands of people walking about at midnight, Christmas time in downtown Warsaw and none appear to be frozen like I was after 10 seconds! Remember, Warsaw is Commonly incorrectly known as Warsaw. Phonetically, this is pronounced Varshava. and good luck saying the correct prounouciation of Wroclaw...it is Frotswaf
Venice, Italy but not in the touristy places- the off the beaten path places are amazing and if you know the local, amazing eateries, you will feel like you died and went to heaven when you experience the food and wine.
Dubrovnik, Croatia- amazing fortress city that you can actually walk on top of. The harsh reality of the war is still visible though on outskirts but the city is breathtaking nonetheless
Bermuda- Hard to complain about colorful homes and pink sandy beaches. People were very friendly- You know the people are great when you cab driver takes you to a local bar and you discover how great a few Dark And Stormy(Dark Rum and Ginger Beer..yummy) drinks are and then he later invites you to a party at a club with his friends.
Hawaii.. To me it was Bermuda on steroids...walking near a volcano, miles of incredible beaches, favorite isolated island is Kauai- Hard to complain on that trip on any island we visited
Live in Wine Country, CA..not a bad place to call home for the past few years..very picturesque, almost like an Italian town with wineries everywhere. When you can walk to a winery from your home, life is good
Vegas for first 24 hours
La Jolla, Santa Monica near Montana Street, San Fran, Laguna, Santa Barbara are all great beach towns..for Rustic, quaint gems..try Northern California drive along pacific coast up to Mendocino....amazing drive..amazing, quaint, beautiful town in the middle of nowhere...pine trees, sand and ocean are a great combination too!
Montreal, Canada is a very beautiful, clean city. I loved all visits to that city when I was a teenager
Worst Places,
Was not crazy about the suburbs of PA- Those toll roads should be outlawed! If you drive without GPS, you will get lost..guaranteed
Vegas after the first 24 hours are over
The drive from Dallas Texas to El Paso...OMG...get ready to not see one food place for hours and hours with nothing to view on a flat road that makes you think you have literally gone to Hell! That was a brutal drive during my cross country journey. Keeping your eyes open is close to impossible on that drive. When you get to NM border, you will never be so happy to see a mountain
El Paso, TX...avoid it at all costs...should have never stayed a night there on my journey across the United States...the best thing was leaving
Detroit, Michigan..my sister lives there and despite that, it is not a place I want to visit again..ever! Escaping over the border was nice though to Canada- The people were nice in Detroit though just not my cup of tea
Mayan Ruins on Yucatan Peninsula was not the best experience ever..even with mosquito spray we literally got attacked by thousands of monster flies and mosquitoes..Imagine covering yourself in honey and then walking into a bee farm..Get the picture?
