I haven't followed CBB closely this year but other than Bol Bol no one at #14 sounds great... and AD sounds a lot better than Bol Bol.

I disagree, it is a lot more fun to say "Bol Bol"!

Try saying the name 10 times in a row super fast

That would be like....(thinking).....(thinking).....20 "Bol's"!

We could use a young point guard or a power forward who likes to play in the paint. Bring him along slowly. Not both.

I still hold out hope that Memphis puts together a few wins and that pick translates this year too.
Why?

This is a weak draft overall, plus I'd rather have pick diversity given we're already looking at a likely low lottery pick from SAC.

Yeah that pick could end up gold in 2020 or 2021.

To me, that’s the best reason to hope the pick doesn’t convey this year - the protections fall away over the next two years and there’s a chance at a better pick down the line - and the timing could work really well, giving us a high-talent young player on a cost-controlled contract two years from now.

That said, if the pick lands ninth this year I won’t be too disappointed. It’s good value to include in a trade.

I disagree. Almost always go for the best talent available with the most upside unless the talent level is similar then maybe go for need.  If the player ends up really good you can almost always move pieces around to find a better fit.

There is a far higher chance that Memphis improves over the next 2 years than gets worse meaning that pick loses value.

If Memphis gets a top 5 pick and adds that to JJJ and JV they are looking better already, add another top 5 pick and they are in the playoffs when the pick become unprotected.

JV isn't in their long-term plans, and Conley is most likely on their way out..

Also top 5 pick?

Ummm... Phoenix Suns would like to have a word with you...

Timberwolves before Butler, would like to also speak to you....

Cleveland Cavaliers before the return of LeBron would like to connect via chat. Do you accept, Yes or No?

Having top 5 pick draft talent doesn't always mean you do well. I like JJ, but there aren't many players out there that can take over a game like LeBron, KD, Curry, or Kyrie/AD can. So its essential to draft well, have a great young core, and solidify a strong culture along with a great coach.

Taking any NO / AD trade out of the equation I suspect the Cs plan for this drat to be similar to 2016. Adding three 1st round picks to a team is tough so I anticipate the Cs looking for 1-2 Euro stash players and/or a trade up or out.

If the Cs can trade up in the lottery I would target Garland or Hunter.

My picks (based off of Tankathons and nbadraft.et mocks) would be

#14 Doumouya (#13 Tankathon #17 nbadraft.net), if Cs draft him I suspect its with the promise that he stays in France for a year. I also really like the upside of KZ Okpala at this pick.

The next two picks would be fluid as to who goes where based off of Intel on who other teams like but I would look for a PG and a big wing

#18 Coby White, Shamorie Ponds, or Tre Jones. In that order. Im high on Ponds and like his potential as a bench spark plug scoring pg

#22 PJ Washington, Grant Williams, Chuma Okeke
Mavs
Wiz
Hornet

How about taking a chance on him if he's still there in the low-20s?

Yeah, I’m sure that’s what’s been said about Phoenix.

Add Ayton to Booker and Jackson and they are a playoff team!

They are still fighting for worst record.

Pass on Bol...foot problem already

Bol's (7'2'') injury is a navicular fracture. That spelled the end to Ming's (7'6'') career, but it was also the same fracture Joel Embiid (7'2'') suffered and he is doing well.

A lot of navicular fractures are the result of weak foot muscles and plopping when you run instead of running with strength. The the muscles don't absorb the impact, and therefore the bones in the ankle start taking the impact.

One of the biggest problems with navicular fractures is blood flow to the area, leading to weak ankle bones and long healing times on breaks. This is one of the reasons why broken navicular bones can be indicative of bigger issues with big guys.

I'm not a doctor, but I suffered a navicular fracture several years ago. It was misdiagnosed initially, leading to 2-3 months of "rest" hoping for a recovery. When I finally got an MRI, they discovered the navicular fracture and I had to wear a walking boot for 4-5 months (can't remember the duration exactly). I still dealt with pain and weakness in the ankle as I rehabbed for the next 6-8 months, getting slowly better over time. That means it took me a full year before I felt mostly back to normal.

I'm not a great athlete, but I do try to stay active. I'm an average 6'1'' and 190 pounds. Therefore, the comparisons between me and Bol are obviously apples to oranges. Still, the break may or may not indicate long-term concerns.

Maybe Bol Bol could become our Jared Sullinger pick back in 2012. High risk but should take risks in the mid-upper picks.

Sully was high risk and no reward.   Ate himself out of the league!

I truthfully have no clue what Phoenix is doing and no clue what their direction is. They'll land a Top-4 pick, draft someone, then what? Another tanking year? Feel like by next season Booker himself will want out from there lol.

I recently read an article that the NBA is looking into the Phoenix Suns and to put it bluntly, find out what the hell it is they're doing.

They haven't made the playoffs since 2010 and haven't won more than 25 games the last 4 seasons.

It just looks bad all around for the league, the team and it's players and fans.

I believe their GM is now James Jones who used to play with Bron in Miami.
