Jarell Eddy and Justin Bibbs.
https://twitter.com/GwashburnGlobe/status/1010184516189769728
Also, looks like their front line will be Semi Ojeleye, Guerschon Yabusele, and Robert Williams that should be interesting.

that's what I was thinking after the pick last night. should be a really interesting league. I don't know if Tatum will be playing (doubtful) but adding Bird and Allen into the mix should be a pretty decent team in the league

Tatum is not playing. The Celtics already put that out there.

be more intrestd in seeing WHO can actually MAKE a shot ....LOL
Yabu , might be the GO TO guy in that group ....
Oh Boy :)

Can't wait to see Williams block everyone's shots
I am more interested in seeing if he has any chance of developing a mid-range jump shot.

I've seen him face up and make jumpers in college. Would like to see more consistency from him though..

Summer league is always about the guards. Rare to see a big man shine in that forum.

Danny should sign LiAngelo Ball for a summer league try out. You know Big Baller Brand will be designing a LiAngelo Celtics' sneaker within a week of the announcement. Ten minutes after designing has started, BBB will have it online to take orders on the $500 pair of sneakers. Obviously, LiAngelo wouldn't make the team, and all of those sneakers that no one ordered will be sold at 5 Below stores for Christmas. The sneakers will be the ultimate gag gift. Just think of it...you can give someone a pair of $500 sneakers, for the low, low price of only $5. The look on their face after opening the gift would be priceless...either total happiness or completely horrified, with nothing in the middle. Danny, please make this happen.

LOL, TP ;D. I would like to see them bring in Rashad Vaughn, however.

I just hope he's not another Jordan Mickey. We all thought Mickey was gonna make some noise too.

I certainly didn't. Thought he was another one of the guys this board and C's fan in general loves.2nd round underdog, scrappy, "beating the odds". Also felt JJJ was garbage from the get go.
Williams pedigree is far beyond any of those guys.
GG was a straight from HS flop. Not unusual at all. That's why the league went back to making guys do a year of school..

I had no interest in Mickey either. I wanted Richaun Holmes with that pick. Don't see how anyone can compare Mickey to Williams.

i am a wait-and-see sort of guy. but williams is not mickey. williams has nba talent and skills on defense and rebounding.
if he has his head screwed on correctly, he can develop a credible offensive game and become a very good nba player. if.

Gary Washburn: The #Celtics will add former Virginia Tech G Justin Bibbs and G-League vet Jarell Eddie (also from Virginia Tech) to their summer league squad, according to an NBA source. 9 hours ago – via Twitter GwashburnGlobe
Tatum isn’t playing. I assume Bird, Allen, Semi and Williams do.
Who else?

we should know more in the next week or so when the celtics send out invites. i think the summer league begins july 6th, so we wont wait long.

I really hope Nader isn't playing.
1. He sucks!
2. He's already played in 2 summer leagues.
3. He shoots too much, which is going to take away from teammates.
4. He holds the ball too much, which is going to take away from teammates.
5. He sucks!

Bird is only likely to play if he’s signed a contract by then, which is probably a 50-50 chance.

Likely starters -
Yabu...it'll be interesting to have him featured on offense. He better dominate SL.
Semi...let's see how his offensive game looks against weaker opposition
Williams
Allen
Eddie...curious to see him if he can follow-up his strong showing late in the season
Bench-
Bibbs...shot 42.4 from 3's during his college career, including 45% and 43.2% his sop/junior yrs
Gibson...curious to see if he plays for us or another team, but we do need another ballhandler on the SL C's
Fringe NBA/G-League bigs should be able to get some good run on our team.

You mean, just like he did last year ::)?

Summer league is always about the guards. Rare to see a big man shine in that forum.
It is and couple that with Yabo doing his volume shooting you have to wonder whether Williams will be simply running up and down the court all night. Hopefully at least one guard will be there with instructions to give Williams some consistent touches.
-
Were I Ainge, I would cut Nader and sign Bird ASAP to the same kind of deal.
Yabu...it'll be interesting to have him featured on offense. He better dominate SL.
If this is the case we could be in trouble.

Hitting a few open shots doesn't mean your offense isn't rudimentary. I want to see if he's made any improvements handling the ball, passing, creating offense, etc.
Nice eye roll, though.

An Aussie here, and I like this guys game here. Obviously not NBA rotation level player, but he isn't bad. Played second fiddle to Andrew Nicholson back in the day, lol

BIG trouble ......out of the whole nest of players , NOne are offensive minded gun slingers . Danny has picked all his role players as defensive specialist
We might not score 25 points or win any games .
I agree .....Yabu either dominates as 16 th pick , sophomore or he hits the road . All,that playing out of comtrol is low IQ , he drives me wild with frustration . Defensively he can do ok ....but again Danny dosn't have anybody who can shoot . Crazy he ll,nee to score 20 -25 a game for Celtics to have any chance or competing . These are kids and low leveo players , if they can t standout here , then i feel bad about his future.
If Summer Celtics win a game it will be like 40 to 38. where they shut down the other team , and barely make enought points to win a bizarre type game. Surely there must be another IT somewhere in the world thatbis unstoppable offensively, has to be .
could this be the worst Celtics summer camp ever . LOL. .....maybe i can try out .
-
Yeah, this squad will not be nearly as good as last year, with Jaylen and Jason. Then again, wins don't matter in SL.
We can debate about Yabusele, but I only want to see what the rookie Williams can do, in spite of SL being a guard-oriented league.
-

I’m in the same boat. I’ve seen enough of Ojeleye and Yabusele the past couple of Summer Leagues. Mostly just excited to watch Robert Williams throw down some thunderous dunks and wreak havoc on opposing guards with a couple nice blocks. It will be interesting to watch a Summer League where we don’t have a Top 5 player and no go to shooter.

TP but I still don't want them to sign ball
-
I predict that we will actually do pretty well.
Jay Larrañaga is an excellent coach that I believe will maximize the players on our rosters potential.
We might have one of the worst scoring offenses in the SL, but you can bet your money we'll be one of the best defensive teams.

Lol, you really should ;D, and even if you don't make the roster the Celtics can hire you to keep Williams and Yabu (sidebar - we might not have gotten Doncic, but we certainly have our very own...Donkik ;) ::) ;D) out of Buffalo Wild Wings and pour water on Robert's face so as to wake him up in the morning, bahahaha ;D.

Larry is too old. He should stick to the 3 on 3 league.
-
I’m not sure how many people we typically carry but the Summer League roster looks to be pretty much set or close to it at this point.
Robert Williams III
Semi Ojeleye
Guerschon Yabusele
Kadeem Allen
Jabari Bird (if signed by then)
Justin Bibbs
Jarell Eddie
Jarrod Uthoff
Daniel Dixon
Demetrius Conger
That’s 10 confirmed guys, maybe we add like 2 more at the most but since we are only playing in one Summer League this year instead of two that might be the complete roster already.
-
Can we sign Little Bronny? ;D
-
Daniel Dixon? Isn't that just like deja vu all over again?
-
I'm excited to see Jabari Bird play, I really hope he gets signed.
I'm also excited to have a Jordan Mickey/Ante Zizic replacement in Bill Williams that everyone can get excited about before realizing the guy can't even average 10 boards a game in summer league.
-
Oof. Yabu playing SL going into year 3...not a good look for this player. This is basically a make or break year for this guy.
-
My only hope for summer league is that Robert Williams neither has a 14PT, 18RB, 5blk game where he absolutely dominates, or an 0-8 FGA, 0-6 FT, 2RB, 6TO stinker.
I don't think I'd be able to take the hysteria either way.
Here's to him playing most of the games and getting 8PT, 8RB, 2BLK and showing some decent potential.
-
and our newest fan favorite and star-in-the-making has appeared on the summer league horizon...

Don't we let most of our guys play in 2 SL's? Tatum is the first I can remember not doing it because he's so good already, jaylen would not have either but he insisted. Smart, roze, etc. all played in 2. IIRC Yabu hasn't played in 1 summer League but I could be mistaken, even if I'm not right on that, it's been 1 at the most.
Yeah, it's been one because I do remember the dancing bear came last season.

Yabusele played in SL the year he was drafted (2016), but not last year because of injury. Regardless, he’s coming off his rookie season, and that’s not an unusual time for a Celtic to participate in summer league.

Thanks for the correction, either way, it's only been once and Celts give their players 2 unless they are very good or they think they're too advanced already (I would say high picks but smart was 6th).

It's okay. For once, I'm actually going to enjoy something ;D.

Here is the schedule....
http://stats.nba.com/schedule/summerleague/
-
Any clue where is Jonathan Gibson? I really liked him at the end of last season, hope we give him a shot.
-
Ugh, we don't play until the 6th and 7th?? I need us to play in 2 SL what the heck man??!! Only 2 games unless we win or is it just 2? Maybe I just read the schedule wrong... :o
Oops, we play on the 9th too! We're playing three days in a row. Ugly. I'd bet if any of the guys who are already on our official roster play well in 2 of the games they will probably miss the other game. We held Jayson and JB out some last season. Maybe not since it's only one SL this time.
-
Pierria Henry of Tofas will play in the NBA’s Las Vegas Summer League with the Boston Celtics. The competition starts on July 6 and ends on July 17.

We play three games for the standings, and then a minimum of two playoff games. So you’ll have at least 5 chances to watch the Summer Celts!

A 6’5” combo guard who shot 42% from 3 in Turkey last year. From West Virginia, and played college basketball at UNC-Charlotte.

Summer league roster officially announced today. Pretty much who we expected. The best is news is that Jabari Bird is on it, implying that a deal with him should be worked out quite quickly.

-
Allen shortest at 6’3”.
Look forward to watching them. Yabu, Semi and Williams starting inside should be fun. Jabari and Allen in backcourt.
-
Is phily gonna use embiid as rookie again , ben in he league 8 year and 35 years old ;D
They are our first game .

I think that almost everybody is over 6'5". When the Celtics get out on the break it's going to be like a water buffalo stampede.

I like Bird ....just the name alone out on the court in green is cool. Plus he can actually shoot. LOL
-
Stoked to see Semi, Yabu, RW, and Bird. If Yabu has anything, he should start showing out in SL.

I think you’ll see some good moments from Yabusele. He did average 20/8/3 when he was in Maine this year.

So it's finally happened. Wow. This is so awesome, and TP for the link :). All that I need now is a picture of Uthoff in green and I can change my signature, lol ;D.

I'm not sure as to whether or not this is some kind of pun owing to Williams' previous experience with Buffalo Wild Wings ;) ::) ;D, lol, but either way - TP. Well done, sir ;D.

I do think it’s between him and Jarell Eddie for our 2nd 2-way spot next season, although I give Eddie the advantage.

Lol, really? I don't even expect to see the Celtics offer Uthoff any kind of contract whatsoever, lol ;D.
That said, here's what I'd like to see during the summer league - assuming, of course, that Uthoff even makes it on the court (ugh) - for Williams to switch off onto any frontcourt player, especially small forwards, after a pick and roll, etc., and for Uthoff to do the same in terms of point guards and shooting guards.
I'm not a proponent of "switching everything" ::), as you know, but in certain matchups, I believe that switching can actually work to our advantage, so we'll see, I guess, but I'm not exactly getting my hopes up, lol ;D. Sigh.

I expect they’ll use their 2-way, because why not, and they’ll want it for someone who has pro experience to be available in an emergency injury situation. As I say, Eddie is the favorite, but Uthoff has been around enough where he could play himself into an opportunity. One thing you’re allowed to do is make camp invite contracts convertible to 2-way contracts, so the Celtics could give 2-3 players the opportunity to earn the 2-way deal in the fall.

Because he got a little time with the team during the regular season, and is a significantly better 3-point shooter. At 44% for his career in the G-League, he has an NBA skill that translates immediately.

While Eddie's G League three point percentage is better, I agree, his percentages at the NBA level are Marcus Smart-level atrocious, lol ;D, plus, he doesn't really do anything other than shoot threes, not to mention the fact that his defense is awful, iirc, lol ;D.
Idk, man, I just think that Uthoff brings so much more to the table that it's not even funny, but at the same time, I just don't see him being properly utilized, if he even gets a chance to play, at all :'(.
Tell you what, how about this - I get my own NBA franchise comprised of nothing but undrafted prospects, with the team getting dibs on the first two, well, undrafted free agent following the conclusion of the, well, draft, as opposed to having your standard first and second round selections.
The team stays together for the duration of your standard rookie contract, albeit not in terms of money, of, what, four years, at the end of which the franchise goes the way of the Dodo and everyone, having received plenty of playing time against NBA players over the proceeding seasons, goes their separate ways, and hopefully with good salaries from NBA teams :).

Allen
Bird
Ojeleye
Yabusele
Williams
Should be a tough team to beat this summer. Not many teams can roll out five starters on NBA/two-way contracts. Defense should be fierce.
-
An extraordinary collection to be found here. A URI guy (Martin) and my question having watched more SL than should be permitted for an adult....there are guys on that list who ultimately, won't get any minutes in the games.
I guess they take the assignment to remain relevant before earning a good living playing in another country. But seriously, it must be tough to be an end of the bench guy hoping to get minutes from NBA bench guys.

No I had forgotten about Williams' draft night at BWW.
I was just thinking that it will be fun watching Williams, Yabusele, and Semi playing together. They are all very large with relatively quick feet. I'm also anxious to watch them rebound together.

williams missed his flight?!?!?!
Yep. This guy better get his stuff together or he will be in Maine for the season. Coming across as a disorganized fool.
-
Williams may have missed his flight, but at least Tatum was there putting in work. That's a good sign of leadership.
-
Tatum is the man

Saw this, and I wondered who he might potentially replace on the SL roster. Bird?
