Boston Celtics forward Gordon Hayward twisted his ankle in a workout Tuesday and is expected to be questionable for Thursday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks, coach Brad Stevens said.
Stevens, speaking Wednesday on 98.5 The Sports Hub, said the injury was "not a long-term thing."
Stevens said the injury was to Hayward's right ankle, not the left ankle, which was surgically repaired in October 2017 following a devastating injury in Heyward's first game with Celtics.
"We anticipate that he'll be back within a short amount of time," Stevens said.
Stevens said Hayward sustained the injury going one-on-one against teammate Semi Ojeleye while they were working out over the All-Star break at the Auerbach Center.

Great. So, just when he was finding his rhythm, this sets him back at least a little.

He’s questionable, not out. Did more than expected in practice today, too, so hopefully he’s out there.

Yep, although Baynes is still out.

Man I just hope that if we do face MIL in the playoffs, we're fully healthy then. The 2nd and most recent time we faced MIL this season we literally didn't have a front court (Morris, Baynes, Horford all out). Now we have no Baynes and probably no Hayward. Having Horford/Morris should help but definitely won't be easy without our full team.

Hopefully he plays.  I am sure everyone wants a statement win against the bucks.  More likely with Gordon playing.

Bummer, well he has a day to get in the hyperbaric chamber and get it right hopefully. I was really looking forward to seeing him kick on this last stretch of the season.

Scalabrine said early this morning on Sirius that he is out tonight.

BTW, Hayward out and Mirotic is in. Not good.
